Hotel is run down and extremely busy! Was not allowed to check into room until late, so we went to the bar to watch the world cup final (What a zoo) sat at a table waiting for service and was not served after asking 3 servers for assistance for 45 minutes. When we checked into the junior suite it was an extremely small suite with a wonderful view of the parking lot, the room was not cleaned (old used soap in soap dish, toe nails and rubbish all over room) so we had to request room to be serviced again. After staying one night in the junior suite we asked to be moved because the entire room leaned to one side of the hotel, this made the bed lean, so I had to hold on so I did not fall out of the bed. The rest of the stay was just OK, for over 700 a night it’s not worth it! I have travel the world and have stayed in great and no so great hotels and this is rated as a not so great hotel, come and visit the beach (Awesome beach) but don’t stay in this horrible place! SO DISAPOINTED

We stayed here for 2 days. We opted to use the valet service. It wasn't cheap but not much difference from the price they have you pay for parking it yourself. Very friendly and fast Valet workers. The elevator operators were very kind. The room itself was small but I really like the walk in closet in it to toss the luggage in. There was a keurig coffee machine in the room which was nice as well as a refrigerator. Room service was fast. The highlights of our trip: Sitting out on the beach on the rented beach chairs. We had a waitress come out and we could purchase drinks and food from her. Janelle was out waitress and she was sweet and provided fast service always with a smile. We also got a massage at the spa and that was nice too. And to end the evening (8:00pm) we reserved a fire pit for a fee and were provided with a smores kit. I wish I got the names of all the people that waited on us. They were all so wonderful. We ate at the 1500 Ocean restaurant. I really don't like seafood but the Filet Mignon was so delicious. Our waiter had great knowledge of the menu and was very courteous. We didn't like the apple dessert so he didn't charge us for it but he did provide us a free to-go dessert since it was our anniversary which was very sweet. Once again I did not get his name..darn. All this was on a Tuesday 7/15, so if the bosses are reading this review, please compliment all your employees that worked that day for use. Everyone we came in contact with was providing great customer service. Another thing I like was the sand...it was soooo soft and the beach was very clean.
Thank you for a lovely Anniversary getaway. We will be back.

disappointed with our stay, this is the 4th time I've stayed at the del. attention to detail wasn't there. hotel was understaffed and amenities aren't the same. didn't like the beach service changes and not having an attendant take care of our needs unless we stayed in the area all the way in the back of the beach. this needs to change to what it used to be. wasn't impressed with food at babcock and story or sun deck bar. menus have changed, and prices are even higher but the quality doesn't match it. we arrived early and were told we'd be on a priority check-in for our room and didn't get into to our room until after 4:00pm which is the normal check-in time. it took over 45 minutes to get our luggage once we arrived in our room. there was a huge corporate group and they literally took over the property. management failed to staff appropriately and leisure guests were lost in the shuffle.

Excellent service. Great staff. Amazing amenities. Room was noisy by pool but was changed to quiet room. Recommend a map visibly displayed in lobby as we got lost trying to find our room initially. Loved it.

We chose to stay here for the historical aspects and the private beach. Everything was clean, but we found a hard boiled egg in our refrigerator and didn't always receive clean glasses or bottles of water in our room. The grounds were nice and the beach was well maintained, but it wasn't as private as I would've hoped. It was open to the public. Our room was near an adult only pool and at no time were my teenage daughters allowed to enter that pool with me. I would like to see maybe a couple of hours in the evening allowed for older kids, say over 13? We had to walk to the public pool so we could all swim. The food was mediocre at the sundeck and sheerwater and very overpriced. We had a room with 2 Queen beds and a balcony that was oceanfront. The sliding glass door didn't have a screen so there was no way to truly enjoy the sounds of the ocean without sitting on the balcony. The room was also pretty basic. Nothing exciting. Overall, I've stayed in nicer places that cost much less in equally high priced cities. I expected something very high end and accommodating, and the staff was in fact helpful and pleasant, but I just didn't feel like this was a good value.

We appreciate your decision to stay with us, but regret that your experience failed to meet your expectations and our high standards. As you noted, our Boardwalk Adult Pool is available to guests aged 18 and up, but our Main Pool is open to all guests from 7am to 10pm. Should you choose to stay with us again—and we hope you do—we would be more than happy to arrange for accommodations closer to the main pool. (more for little kids)

Three generations, ranging in age from 6 months to 85, spent a wonderful four days at the Beach Village. Our villa was beautiful -- nicely furnished and incredible views. But what made our stay so special was the amazing service. From the moment we were met in the parking area for check-in, to the extra hour I requested for checkout, all the staff was amazing. Left my cellphone in the car -- no problem, the valet noticed and brought it to our villa. Asked for a crib -- it was already set up in the room when we arrived. Requested extra plates for a family dinner -- happily delivered. Received attentive service at the pool and the beach -- the drinks were expensive, but so worth it! And the complimentary breakfast at the Windsor cottage was a great spread of fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, etc.

The Del is a great place for a family reunion because there is so much to do -- my daughter got a massage, my sister took a yoga class, my son-in-law found the nearby gelato shop -- not to mention the pools and the beautiful beach. I highly recommend the Beach Viilage!

The Good: Location, Weather, Kind Service
The Bad: The rooms in old hotel suck. We changed rooms 3 times and apparently this is common. Small rooms, semi renovated, uninsulated. Very noisy, expect to be waken up if the party above you is up early. You will hear every footstep and movement. Hallways noisy too. As far as service, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
The Ugly: The bathrooms are awful. Stains everywhere, smelly, insects, handles fell off, toilets stuff up, shower curtains yech. The hallway carpeting is dirty and old. Paint peeling everywhere.

One big issue is that the hotel ropes off those staying in the villas from the "have nots". Even the
Ritz does not separate the haves from the have nots. That really was a bummer.

Hotel Del absolutely needs a new Board of Directors and CEO. No doubt, tear down Hotel Del and get a new BOD. I wouldn't waste your $500 per night. Go up North to Laguna Nigel and stay
at the Ritz. We have stayed at the Breakers in Palm Beach and that is a 5 star hotel and run well. This hotel does not deserve 3 stars.
