“Poor food; worse service”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We recently ate here on a trip to Coronado. In addition to being extremely overpriced, the food was, at best, mediocre and the service was snobbish. Would not recommend this restaurant.

“No self respecting Italian would eat here”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

The service was excellent but the food was subpar. It started off bad right from the start when they brought bread with olive oil and balsamic. I asked for them not to put the balsamic in. I do this to taste the quality of the olive oil. The oil was tasteless and had no olive smell. This was not real olive oil. The fried calamari was the best part of the meal as it was not great but not bad. The Caprese salad had hard tomatoes and this is tomato season. No excuse to have bad tomatoes. And to have the same bad olive oil broke my heart. I ordered the fish special which was sea bass. They were serving it with a rock shrimp sauce. I asked for them to put the sauce on the side as i did not want the sauce to cover up the taste of the fish. The fish was not the best quality. The roasted potatoes however were excellent. My husband ordered the veal piccata and the veal had a metallic taste and they served it with a side of pasta with the same bad olive oil which just made the pasta taste oily. I do not see why this restaurant gets such high ratings? It is a shame. They charge high prices for low quality.

“Impressive!!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We eat a lot of Italian food, and we appreciate quality. We found it here! All of the pasta dishes we ordered were very fresh and the bolognese was outstanding. Seafood was also great. We ate here two nights in a row, and were not disappointed. Beautiful outdoor seating area too. If you are in Coronado, you should definitely eat here.

“Awesome Italian food”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Our family stopped to eat here after walking from the del Coronado. The service was great, the food was excellent, especially the crab cakes and pasta, which is made in house. Everyone loved our meal. It is a more upscale restaurant, but is kid friendly.

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Extensive menu with lots of delicious choices. We had the lobster ravioli and lobster risotto (special for the day) along with a crab cake as appetizer. Being from Maryland, we are crab cake aficionados, and this was one of the best we've had. The lava cake was good for dessert, but skip the gelato...go down the street to Nado Gelato! This gelato was more like ice cream and had ice crystals so you could tell it was sitting in the freezer for a while.
