Owner description: A beautiful, intimate theatre in Coronado's historic Spreckels Building, with a year 'round production schedule.

Whenever I go to Coronado, I always check to see what is playing at Lamb's Players Theatre on Orange Avenue. I've seen several performances there and have always enjoyed the plays including this year's production of Music Man and last week's opening night performance of Trying. Trying's playwright has written witty and authentic dialogue worthy of our attention. The actors' performances were nearly pitch perfect. This is one of the most satisfying plays I have even seen. Our friends enjoyed the experience too. A bit of advice for those who like a little bit more leg space; buy tickets in the very last row, center. Then, sit back and enjoy the show.

The Lamb's Players Theatre consistently presents theater with depth, wit, intelligence and humor, beautifully executed by some of San Diego's finest performers. Currently showing is 'Joyful Noise', the story of how Handel's 'Messiah' almost didn't happen. The drama of the second act is riveting.

About the review for 'Rehearsal for Murder' - the setting for the story is SUPPOSED to be an empty theater, where a murder is being investigated. IT WASN'T A MUSICAL, so of course there was no music. The plot was terrific, with a great twist at the end. Really, really strange review by someone who had no idea what they were talking about.

Not sure where the other reviewer is coming from on that review but, I think Lambs players is one of the best theatres in San Diego - mind only that it's actually in Coronado.
I didn't see Rehersal for Murder - but I don't thinik it was a musical - and therefore wasn't supposed to have music.
I did See Into the woods which was awesome - The actors have voices that will knock your socks off.
I also Saw Amadeus there this weekend - really good as well. The play is a little long, and not like the movie. But it won a Tony Award for a reason. It's really an intricate and beautiful peice... again, not a musical - but there is of course music played throughout
The actors are part of the company - so you see them over and over again in the different shows playing very diverse parts.
You have to keep in mind that the theatre suits the town that it's in - Coronado, Ive been told is compared to Mayberry (Andy Grifith Show) - its small town, sweet, and clean as are the shows that get put on here... Amadeus is probably as raunchy as they get.

They have a show coming up next month at the Lyceum - American Rhythm, I fully intend to attend.

But I want to know if anyone's been to their Christmas event at the Del? I suppose the question should be put in the forums.

Went to play yesterday. It was terrible! Do not go see Rehearsal for Murder.
No props, no music, bad story and bad acting. We walked out at the intermission.
WAste of money.
