“Elegance, Convenience and Great Staff”

Check out their on-line specials which offer great discounts. We chose the Historic package that included two nights, a DVD of "Some Like It Hot" (the nearby Del Coronado Hotel was where the film was shot), a $25 restaurant voucher, some candy and a free ticket to a walking tour. What a great deal...and we got to stay in well appointed deluxe rooms. The staff is very professional and helpful. When we phoned the front desk because we were experiencing difficulty connecting with their free WiFi internet service, a technician was at our door in minutes to help. The old mansion is elegant and historic. You'll enjoy breakfast in the library or out on the sunny patio.

We arrived at The Glorietta Bay Inn just before 11am as we had just come of a cruise ship. We expected that we would have to leave our luggage and come back for check in, but the staff (especially Mike) could not have been more helpful and said that our room was ready for occupation. The room was a good size with a table and 2 chairs, and a good size bathroom. There is a swimming pool and outside terrace where you can enjoy the view towards the harbour. Continental breakfast is complimentary and there was a good choice which was more than adequate. Coffee and tea are available throughout the day. Just before we were due to checkout we noticed that one of our suitcases had been damaged (presumably when it came off the cruise ship). The only solution we could think of was to put some duck tape round it, and once again Mike came up trumps sending one of his maintenance staff to do a repair job.

Right across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado, about a block from the beach, and within easy walking distance of a number of great restaurants. And the neighborhood was great. Coronado was such a fun, relaxing place to stay in San Diego.

The room itself was pretty basic but nice and clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

If you're in the mood for Mexican food, walk across the street to Miguelito's. We had DELICIOUS fish tacos and margaritas.

We decided that a weekend at the hotel Del Coronado was what we wanted, but not what we wanted to pay for. We chose the Glorietta Bay Inn because it is right across the street from the 'Del' and cost about half. Not that there's anything wrong with this hotel.. It is part historic mansion and part modern hotel, is spotlessly clean and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. The continental breakfast is perfect for getting you fed and out the door to the beach, but if you're looking for a full breakfast, downtown Coronado (and ifs restaurants) is a short walk down the block..
We can't wait to return!

We selected the Glorietta Bay Inn based on the positive reviews of other travelers. We stayed in the Mansion in the Steckels suite and were very impressed with the room, the balcony, the view and the service. We have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and stay in some beautiful places. The Glorietta Bay Inn ranks high on our list of outstanding accommodations. I would recommend it to anyone and would be happy staying there again.

Room Tip: If you want a real treat, choose a suite in the Main building (the mansion)

I really don't understand people being disappointed with the breakfast or the view or the price. everything is very forthcoming and we knew exactly what we were getting. It actually exceeded our expectations. It was very busy, but being Easter weekend that is to be expected. the service was perfect. the room was exactly what was advertised and they gave us a great view of the bay, which we asked for. the breakfast was more than satisfying and they have water, coffee, lemonade, fruit, and cookies throughout the day. We drink Cafe Moto at home, so we were so glad to find it here also.
They had a bike shed so we could use and store our bikes at our leisure, they had ample parking and only charged us $10 for our whole stay, instead of per day. the pool and spa are small, and this was worsened by all the families here this week. Again, to be expected in a fully booked hotel. I will say that the pool closes at 10 and we were wanting to go in the spa at 10:30 (we were without our kids this trip) and I was bummed it closed so "early."
we would stay here again in a heartbeat, especially with the Internet special we booked. the normal prices are a tad high I think.
As far as people complaining about the noise, you do hear the other guests, but not after 10 and not before 8am. I wear earplugs so it doesn't bother me. w
We couldn't hear the people above or to the side of us, only those out in the hallway.
The cable tv was basic, the free WiFi was excellent, and the staff very helpful and friendly. I would choose this over the Del any day!
have realistic expectations, and you'll be pleasantly surprised :)

Room Tip: ask for a bay view

I decided to stay here while my daughter was interviewing for graduate school in the area. We only had a one night stay and it was brief so I could not justify the incredible expense of staying at the Hotel Del Coronado. This hotel was perfect. There is a $10 parking fee which the front desk told me as soon as I checked in. Staying on Coronado is far from the hustle and bustle of San Diego but it is quite lovely. We had drinks at the Hotel Del Coronado ($20 for a beer and a mixed drink) and watched the sunset over the ocean. Our room was on the ground floor and was a bit dark for my tastes but we did not ask for a change. The bathroom was older but very clean and everything worked perfectly. I could tell it was well maintained. The room overlooked the pool and I thought it would be noisy but it was very quiet and well insulated. The breakfast is fairly standard hotel buffet food and the patio area is lovely in the morning. All in all the staff was professional and

Room Tip: If I had to stay there again ask for the second floor.
