- Fantastic location across from the Del
- incredibly pleasant staff
- beautiful interior lobby
- very nice grounds and landscaping
- decent continental breakfast

The problem is the rooms. They are VERY small (I have no idea on mansion rooms, I am talking about the annex rooms) and nothing nicer than you would see in a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. I reserved a balcony room and was initially placed in a room slightly larger than a walk-inn closet. When I complained they moved me to a room with a "balcony" which in reality was a patio overlooking a busy road. The sidewalk was literally 5 feet from the sliding door the went into my room and I got to say "hi" to everyone when they walked by. Lousy

The bathroom was clean and I could tell was recently updated (unlike the rest of the room).

I was only there for a short stay but I would NOT go back if I was to stay in one of those rooms vs one of the nicer, larger mansion rooms.

It was a pleasure speaking with you on the phone this afternoon. Again, we are so sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. We really appreciated the feedback regarding your stay in your room. We are currently in the process of updating the room with new furniture, and you are correct as we recently renovated the bathrooms. I hope that the next time you’re in the Coronado area you’ll stay with us again. Please contact me at kelsey@gloriettabayinn.com so I can personally set up your next stay. Thank you, Kelsey McCabe

We stayed at this hotel because our wedding sight was right down the street at the Coronado Community Center. It definitely had the best breakfast and location! The costumer service was great. They gave us a bottle of wine, we don't drink alcohol but loved the wonderful gesture :) Such a beautiful breakfast sitting area. The only downside was the room was kinda small, very nice and clean but very small. I'm not sure whether the bed was a full size or queen. My inlaws stayed on the other side of the building and they said their bed was really small too. Well that's the only downside.

Thank you for the wonderful review. We're so happy we could help celebrate your wedding day and that the service you experienced was excellent. We have many room types that come with different size beds, from a full size bed (snug room) to a king size bed (bay view king room) that we offer guests upon making a reservation. I apologize if you were not given to correct information and will improve upon this in the future. We hope to see you again for an anniversary in the future! Thank you, Kelsey McCabe

The location was awesome. We booked two rooms. One was the standard room and the other was a Jr. Suite. The rooms were spacious. The suite had two bathrooms. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants and shops. Their was a fridge and microwave in the room. Beautiful scenery. The place is pricey, but we got a good rate because we attended a wedding in the area. You had a choice to stay in the mansion side or the newer side. I could not tell the difference because the decor was made to look the same as the mansion side. The free breakfast could be better. The muffins were good. I would stay there again in a heart beat either with my family or just as a couple.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Jr. suite and it had two bathrooms. There are different size rooms and prices to c...

We stayed one night at the GBI. The front desk staff were very helpful and very friendly. It's a nice location. The room was ok and very clean. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in the hotel and not the mansion. They were able to accommodate our early arrival and also gave us beach chairs and towels. I would definitely stay here again.

The restored mansion evoked a time past in Coronado. Although the wifi, flat screen TVs and updated rooms provided modern comfort, the architecture and many sepia photos acknowledged the history and grandure of the original mansion. Great location near the beautiful beach and easy walk to restaurants and bars. Delicious coffee available at 6:00 am and a varied continental self-serve breakfast.

Spent a week at Glorietta Bay Inn with my wife. The total experience was exceptional and well worth the price. Room was very nice and well appointed. Front desk always cheerful beginning with the phone reservation process though the entire visit. The free breakfast saved us a lot of time and money. Location is central to anything you want to see in Coronado or San Diego. The beach is across the street behind the Del and very convenient. We considered staying at the Del, but having visited the property during our stay, we saw many of their facilities off limits because of "private affairs". Frankly, if I was paying to stay at the Del, and experienced those restrictions, I would be very upset. Out next stay will be at Glorietta Bay. No question about it.

Room Tip: The best rooms are facing the front parking lot, not the ones overlooking the pool.

My wife and I (who live on the east coast) decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Coronado CA, where I was born. The hotel was recommended by a friend who lives in San Diego. This was originally a mansion but it has been extended by many rooms which wander all over the place - rather like a labyrinth. Our room was very nice with a balcony and a partial view of the harbor. It was well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, etc. Other rooms were in rather dark corridors and may not have been quite as nice. The continental breakfast was quite good, One of the nicest aspects of the hotel is that it is within easy walking distance of several good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making reservations at an excellent restaurant for our anniversary celebration, where we were treated like royalty - even had a VIP card on our table. We would certainly recommend the hotel without reservation, and if/when we return to Coronado, will stay there again.

Room Tip: the top floor (of two) offers better views.
