“Upscale mall”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

If you have never been to South Coast Plaza it offers high end shopping with some average priced stores also.Has interesting dining inside the mall as well as around the exterior.
If you love shopping this may be for you! I would also check out nearby fashion island.
Stores range in the plaza from Sears to Macys to the upscale end with Saks and chanel.

“Beautiful mall - a shopping destination”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

There's a sense of space and openness - huge variety of up-scale shopping that you'd find in Paris or Rome, and there is still a Sears. Includes "famous" Carousel, children's train across at annex, and beautiful stained glass dome ceiling in front of Macy's. Lots of food choices - but NOT a food court kind of place. The annex across street has lots of home stores (Crate & Barrel flagship store, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, West Elm etc etc etc) as well as such places as Anthropologie and Wahoo's. Altogether you can't find a bigger selection of shops and restaurants.

“An Experience Not to be Missed”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

I am a husband who can normally find better things to do than visit a shopping mall. In the Orange County area, however, there are two malls that I look forward to visiting on our winter trip to the area. They are the South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island.

South Coast Plaza is a shopping mall like no other that I have visited. Under one roof, one travels from Rodeo Drive to Main Street. Just like Rodeo Drive it's fun to browse the stores whose names one knows from movies and the Oscar's red carpet. Gucci, Feragammo and all the big names are represented. Under the same roof are the names like Banana Republic, Gap etc, where one can actually shop. There's lots of parking, but it can be very busy on weekends and holidays. There is the opportunity for valet parking at a rerasonable price.

We received a pass to the Lounge in the Mall from our hotel concierge. This is similar to airline departure lounges where one can relax, watch TV, read, and enjoy a beverage and snack. For the last couple of visits it has been presided over by Sasha, a most pleasant and accommodating host. It's very worthwhile and resulted in probably my most pleasant "shopping" excursions.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

“Excellent but expensive shopping mall”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

This mall has many stores and excellent restaurants. The two sections of the mall are connected by an outdoor bridge. There are many indoor and outdoor parking places. Many of the stores are "high class" stores with very high prices, but there are also many bargain stores. Getting around the mall isn't easy (even with a map). For quality shopping - this is the place!
