This is an older two-storey motel located on the northbound access road of Newport Blvd between 21st and 22nd St. If you're not using a GPS you might bypass it and have to figure how to double back. It's really no problem, just know it's on a 1-way street, so once passed you have to cross over the freeway to get back. I had an upgraded room which means they added a fridge and microwave to the furnishings and gave me a king bed. The air cooler/heater was under the sink countertop so I had to crawl under it to manage the settings. Though you might never need an air conditioner here, some cooler mornings might require a heater. You're about 2.5 miles from the beach here so there's strong evidence of past mildew problems in addition to the tub faucet having a continual slow drip. Parking can be tight for late comers and, like I said, you're on a one way street so even if you opt for on street parking you might have to drive completely around the block to park your vehicle near the motel entry. There's a pool, I don't know why, it's small and tucked into a corner of the property. There are several other small chain motels nearby but this is a rather dreary section of town for a holiday location. You'll have to drive a bit for better restaurants, though there is a supermarket just north, same street at the corner. More upscale shops are on 17th toward Westcliff, not far. I have no complaints about the housekeeping. The room was cleaned and maintained well each day of my 3-day weekend. The front office serves a take away breakfast before 9AM and there's also a free national newspaper. Remember, you'll get what you're paying for here, not much but a few light bulbs and a sleeping facility. If you want a resort, pay more for a beachfront or overlook location.

This place is so run down and in need of remodeling. When I first got to my room the bathroom window was missing! The glass was gone and only a screen was in place so I had to call the office. They fixed the problem with a new window quickly but I don't understand how that happens or goes in noticed by house keeping. Then we go to take showers and the bathtub is peeling and dirty. Next it's time for bed so I peel off the old worn comforter to find little holes in the blankets and one big hole/worn spot. The pillows are the size of travel pillows and you only get two on a bed. The bed had a huge indention in it so I couldn't get comfortable. If that wasn't enough there are crickets or 1 cricket INSIDE the room that kept me up almost all night. It was horrible. I have never written a review before, I have stayed at inexpensive motels that are old and out dated and have been perfectly happy. I asked for a discount and they ha to call tech support after awhile they called and gave me 10%, I'm sorry but 10% didn't make up for my lack of sleep during my kids mini spring break vacation.
