Large room, clean (no obvious filth or bugs!), inexpensive for the area. Convenient to PCH and beach towns; close to shopping and restaurants. No elevator, but ground floor rooms are drive- up. Uninspired breakfast, but you won't starve if you are not picky. I made do with OJ and an apple. I checked in at midnight and the clerk voluntarily extended my check-out time an hour *although I ended up staying 2 days). Clerk had to come to room to get TV working, as someone messed with the box. They had a pool, but I am not sure if it was closed for the season--it looked clean thru the fence.
Luckily I took heed of Tracy P. of Peoria's comment about taking her own pillow; I took my memory foam pillow. The bedspreads were so slippery they ended up on the floor each morning. I should have asked for extra blankets. "Non-smoking" rooms means only in the room. There are ashtrays right outside the doors and smoke from neighboring smokers wafted into our room at all hours of the day and night. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. There was a locked connecting door to the next room---I could hear much of the TV noise and conversation through the spaces around this door despite cramming the bottom with a blanket and two pillows. For me, the mattress was too hard. I used an inflatable camping mat atop the bed. The telephone was not working. I had to ask for shampoo and extra cups. The tiled bathtub (very artistic!) was very slippery. The management found me a small rubber mat and possibly saved a nasty fall. Thank you! All in all, these small (?)
glitches made for some stressful moments. I will probably look at other motels on my next trip.
