“Staff was rude, hotel was dirty and worn down. Very unpleasant!”
Reviewed 20 March 2007

The hotel was bad from the time I checked in until I checked out. Staff had little knowledge of customer service and was not willing to help find a solution to any of my many problems with the hotel.
I have worked in hotels for about 15 years and have never experienced this kind of service. The staff were rude and their knowledge of simple hotel procedures and amenities was nonexistant.
Dirty stained ceilings and cigarette burns in the bedspread and carpet were not as bad as the crusty stain on the carpet. I don't want to think what it could have been.
Overall the worst hotel experience I have encountered. I stay in hotels about 20 times a year or more.
I do not recommend this hotel for even the most cost concious person. Not worth $25.00 let alone a standard rate of $109.00. Find a Vagabond or a Travelodge. They would be better.

The front desk was efficient BUT! when we got to the room, we were very disappointed. The carpeting was soiled in various places with stains or bleached areas. It had a musty odor and the table veneer was peeling off with large stains also. It didn't provide a cozy feel, but the bathroom was clean and the sink. That was nice!

I also usually stay at least in a 3 star hotel, but to my surprise this place was pretty clean. I saw but 2 scout ants in our room. The pool and hot tub were pretty clean. My fiance even did laps in the small pool Saturday morning, while I basked in the hot tub. Our room faced another hotel/apt complex on the 2nd floor so it was pretty quiet, although it wasn't quiet at 7am when people were leaving their rooms and having the door shut behind them. Our room actually had a connecting door to the room next door and it would shudder when a door got slammed. Also I'll have to say you might hear "something" from your neighbors if you know what I mean. They also served a pretty ok continenental breakfast, mini croissants, streudels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. Also the location was pretty good for what we had to do that weekend. Midway to Balboa Island, Newport Beach, Buean Park to Medievel Times, and South Coast Plaza was an exit away. John Wayne Airport is probably 2 exits away!!! This was way better than the Ramada Inn in Canoga Park, and I think that was a 2 star w/ no pool or hot tub!!!!

I stayed here twice, only because I forgot that I had stayed here before. The last time was in November. The rooms are only ok. The pluses are daily newspaper, there is a frig in the room & the phone has a dataport. Minuses no coffee maker or microwave in room, very small calling area so the dataport is not much good. The pool was cold.

They do have everything in the office, microwave, toaster, coffee & a (count one) computer with internet access ($5 per 1/2 hour fee).

Even though some of staff are pleasant, this hotel just is not very welcoming. The BW up the street is a better value.
