First, I'd like to say that Aaron beach is an extremely lovely place with a great view for the sun, sand and sea. It's just amazing for the breeze that is continuous and fresh with no pollutants from the city. Should you be a scuba diver, you can easily dive with the gentle giants of the sea, the whale sharks which are fed daily from 6am onwards. Getting close to them is once in a lifetime opportunity.

Sadly though, I wish the place would not smell of dog poo all the time although I fear this is not something that can be helped easily. It does take a while to get used to it but once you have, it's not a bad place to enjoy. Couple of wild dogs running around the area so watch where you place your feet, unless you are willing to wipe off dog poo...

Please note that it is a great place for couples, friends and family to stay in this place. Yet, they do not provide anything less than a queen size bed for the room. They do not have any rooms with 2 single beds. Should you require one, they will simply give you an inch thick mattress that you can lay on the floor for yourself.

Watch the area for the washroom as well. If you are slightly bigger than the average man, well let's just say that you would have some problems moving around the bathroom. Our friends in the room next door complained that their basin tap was nonoperational and they required to use the shower instead.

The redeeming quality about this place would be the fantastic staff manning the place. They are relatively new to the tourism industry so bear with them if they do not provide services that you may be used to. However, their willingness to listen and learn is a huge credit.

As my title suggest, expect nothing and you will be fine.

We stayed at Aaron's Beach Resort for two nights in August 2013. The only reason to stay here is that it is right next to the 'action' with the whalesharks. If you want to be in the water at 6am before the hordes arrive (something I would highly recommend) then this is the place to stay. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable with a noisy air-con (that masks the noise from the main road) and a hot shower. The internet costs extra and is very patchy. The 'resort' is basically a few rooms next to a carpark and the main building is where the family hang out (the 'staff' are a large extended family) - complete with TV/living room right next to the tables where you eat, so you kind of feel like you are intruding on their private space. The atmosphere is very odd, but everyone is pretty friendly and the food, although basic, was tasty. Nothing special but the location is perfect.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. Our sole reason for going to Oslob was to snorkel with the whale sharks. The hotel is located right on the beach adjacent to the whaleshark snorkeling area. Our room was stark, but adequate. We had AC and a tiny, utilitarian bathroom with hot water. (In retrospect, we could have easily done without the hot water, but the AC was critical. It was HOT in Oslob.) There is a small restaurant on site with a cook who prepared special meals for us since there were no vegan items on the menu. We had one of the more expensive rooms at 1700P a night (about $40 US). The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, and snorkeling with whale sharks was so nice that we did it twice! (1000P/person per 30 minutes) www.aaronbeachresort.com

im glad that my friends and i had chose this place. the owners are friendly and they try to make you feel like home with their smiles and they try to help you as much as they can (though their english is really quite limited)

dont expect anythign fancy at this place - bed , mirror, water ( cold water , no hot water)
though past 9pm ( people sleep at 7pm or 8pm) , the owner would cook for you because you are hungry :D

Great place to stay, this is definitely the pick for accommodation in Oslob. The rooms are simple but very nice, clean and full of colour, the restaurant menu is an enjoyable blend of Western and Pilipino food the service is great and the view of the ocean and whales sharks is outstanding. If you are into scuba diving or snorkelling there is plenty of gear and the staff are very helpful no request seems too much trouble. I did a dive as well as snorkelled with the Butanding (Whale Shark) and can recommend both, being on top of the water and under it both offer a unique perspective of this impressive giant of the sea. I have read blogs etc commenting on poor treatment and over exposure of the whale shark but I have to say that I did not experience this at all, access to the whale sharks is tightly controlled and very well organised, the local community have done a good job.
There is plenty to do close to the resort we recommend a trip to Sumilon Island, Tumalog Falls and Oslob local swimming pool which is fed from a natural hot water spring, there are even fish in the smaller pool.
There are palm trees along the front of the resort which provide amazing cool shade in the middle of the day and if you have time to spare there are small open huts where you can spend the day relaxing and watching the ocean.
Last but not least if you stay here you have to sit on the resorts ocean wall at sunset, with a beer, and watch moon come out it is must....we loved our stay and will be back for sure.
