“Why go anywhere else?”
Reviewed 22 July 2012

When we considered all of our options concerning where we would spend our 5 day July get away we choose Sleepy Hollow! While we initially were leaning strongly toward a beach stay, in the end we just couldn''t beat the quiet, relaxing, and much more cost effective mountian retreat. Really, we paid less then HALF of what it would have cost us in similiar housing at the beach! And we had out "beach" right there, sand and all, on the shores of lake Gregory! We relaxed on the beach each day soaking up the beautiful California sunshine!
And as usual the owner, Trina and her wonderful considerate staff, treated us very very special! Sleepy holllow is truely "the place to relax".

This was a nice little hotel in Crestline that was very close to shops and Lake Gregory. The booking process was easy. There are a few rules that the management has put in place but there were not restrictive and led to quiet evenings and clean facilities. The manager took us to our room and made sure that everything was clean upon check-in. They had beach towels to loan us for the pool. The pool area was clean and the hot tub very relaxing.

Keep in mind that this is an older, mountain hotel so don't expect five-star facilities and updated decor. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Also, I suggest avoiding room #9. It's next to the stairs and the wall shakes when people climb them. That's not good in earthquake prone California. It was not a huge deal especially since there are quiet hours and not much activity during the evening.

Lake Gregory is great and my kids loved boat rentals, the swimming, and a surprisingly fast water slide. There's also a full service grocery, a small playground, decent pizza shop, McDonalds, and 7-11 within a short walk. A longer walk gets you a family restaurant and a fun little variety store called the "Oak Trunk" that sells everything from fabric to fresh fudge. They also sell 35-cent ice-cream cones which my kids loved.

If we find a need to visit the area again this hotel will be on the top of our list.

Room Tip: Avoid room #9 and if you stay a few days book a cabin.

A rice get Away from the busy tourist areas of Big Bear and Arrowhead Lake in the San Bernadino Mountains. There is excellent information in the room on the area including details about hikes and how to get there. You can walk to Lake Gregory from the hotel. There are some ok restraunts a chineese and Mexican one (with view of the lake) just a short walk away.. The pool is clean and nice for laps, the hot tub was great. A fun selection of videos to choose for your tv viewing. There is some road noise but nothing to major. Friendly staff and guests too. Good value esp in off season. Enjoy the walk to Heart Rock and Falls only a five minute drive from your room. Also close by is Silverwood Lake State Park and in fall/winter and spring enjoy the Pacific Crest Trails. We are a couple in our sixties but saw families enjoying it here too. A funky fun used bookstore is across the road and a grocery store is a one minute walk too. No ice machine but thats not a big deal.

These little cabins were so cute, clean and quiet. They are updated and have everythng you need for your stay...I would recommend "Sleepy Hollow" to anyone.... they even have bbq's in the back yard for you to use....

The owner is so sweet and wants you to have everything you need.

We are planning on going back real soon... They are even Pet Friendly...

The staff were all friendly and helpful. We came with two little kids and had the best time. Our friends came with two older kids and a dog and loved it as well. Easily walking distance to the lake which is great for all ages and the sleepy hollow had a nice pool and hot tub. Was worried about our cabin being close to the only smoking area in the gazebo, but didn't bother us at all. We are definitely going to be returning and have already told lots of our friends about it.

Room Tip: Mint Fawn fit our family of four well, but bathroom was really tiny...which was fine for 2 nights. H...

My newly blended family stayed there last week and we were sad to leave. It was close to everything in town, we walked around the lake and had a great time bonding and learning more about one another. The bedrooms were really comfortable and the kitchen made us feel at home. We are talking about having our wedding/reception at the San Moritz (we found that on our walk) and are looking forward to returning there before the end of the year!!! Thank you so much...see you soon!

Room Tip: We had The Lazy Owl and it was perfect for the four of us.

I would absolutely recommend the Sleepy Hollow to anyone that is thinking of staying in Crestline. My son was recently married and had his reception at the San Moritz ~ 20 of us ended up staying at the Sleepy Hollow. The rooms were good sized and very clean. The beds were very comfortable (especially after a really long day). Trina couldn't have been more accomodating. When my mother-in-law wanted to check-in before the rest of us got there, Trina gave her her key and told her that she'd take care of the paperwork once I'd gotten there which gave my mother-in-law a chance to rest before the rest of us arrived. Also, in the morning we were heading over to The Billy Bear Restaurant for breakfast and Trina called ahead for us so that a table would be waiting. Above and beyond!!! Truly a wonderful place to stay.
