We stayed here three nights, and even though it's close to 405 it was quiet. We chose it because it was central to the museums we wanted to visit. To the northwest is the LA County Museum of Art -- that was the first day, and we used surface streets (allow for rush hour on return). Day two we headed to the beach and up to the Getty Villa (less than half-hour). Day three we checked out and headed up 405 to the huge Getty Museum (less than half-hour). We left by 3pm and avoided rush hour on our way back to the SF Bay Area.
The motel has a smallish restaurant (the Metro) where we ate breakfast once -- and I would recommend it. We saw people there for lunch as well, and I surmise that locals eat there also (lodgers at the Travelodge get a $5 discount for breakfast).
Room was fine, with fridge and microwave. Internet was not working at first for us but staff did fix it fairly quickly. If you like checking out the classic LA museums, stay here.More
