We just stayed there on a late arrival, the hotel room was clean staff was pretty good. However in our room the heater would not work and froze our behinds all night til we left, it just blew cold air. We did not report this to the hotel as it was too late and needed to get up early. The bathroom setup was nice, however it lacked maintenance the paint is falling off and there is mold on the walls along with the shower door falling off. We did not stay for free breakfast as we had an early morning and needed to move along. Overall it was ok and probably would stay again with blankets.

Room Tip: Double rooms are great for 2 couples or splitting up kids from parents, they have doors for each roo...

We were staying here for four nights, and chose it for two reasons: relative proximity to a friend's place in the outer sunset, and the reviews it has received here and elsewhere. And ya know, we were not terribly disappointed. The staff are great: very friendly and attentive. We stayed in an odd room (room 123) which sort of wraps around a tiny little room, and we heard nothing; it was very quiet, even with the wood floors. The room was very clean.

Now, the cons, none of which are easy to address by the property, and I applaud them for making the place work as well as it does.

1) Our room had a broken lock on the window. Physical security in the area seems like a good idea, and the property should address this.
2) No water pressure in the shower. This can be fixed using something like an aerator shower head, though that might not work for people 6 feet or taller, like myself.
3) The room had a fridge, but it pretty much froze everything in it. Not a huge deal, but none of the settings seemed to work.
4) Pretty spotty wifi, which is expensive to fix for a campus-wide install, but there are some decent options they can look into.
5) Location is not great. It is very far away from everything you'll want to see unless you're in town for the rodeo, since the Cow Palace is literally across the street. You'll need to drive everywhere, and it's a pretty sketchy part of town. All that said, the motel itself was quiet and felt plenty safe. It's just a heck of a drive to anything San Francisco-ish.

All in all, we were happy enough with the stay. The price was right, the staff were great, and the room was clean and comfy. The bed was actually super comfy, better than the bed we had at a much pricier place for the latter half of the week.

So: if price is important, and location isn't super important, then this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, but some looked very small. They were happy to show me the room before we s...

An excellent hotel with comfortable and clean rooms. For breakfast, rolls and yogurt is a perfect way to start the day. Alpine is a strategically located, as its a 2 minutes walk to the bus stop.
Sagar is a friendly and very helpful person. The customers including me prefer to call him sugar because he friendly and talks with a smile.

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter

Stayed one night. The price was right, rooms were clean, staff friendly. Not the best neighborhood to wonder around in. Across from the Cow Palace. Breakfast rolls and coffee was perfect to start the day. Would stay again.

A nice hotel, but I would advise having a car if you want to get around, as its a good 30 mins into fisherman's wharf area. I took the bus on a few occasions and that took over an hour, but I enjoyed taking the bus. The hotel was clean and rooms for ok. They do have free wi-fi but its flaky at best from your room. You get the best signal if your room is near the reception.
