I have stayed at Laguna Cliffs several times, and they truly provide 5-star service each time. The rooms (and the beds!) are great, location is awesome, and the breakfast buffet can't be beat. The front desk, valet and concierge are friendly, responsive and are on top of their game. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Its a big hotel, but beginning with check-in we felt special. My husband & I celebrated our anniversary here and received complimentary champagne & strawberries with a handwritten note from management. We;ve returned twice since and enjoy our stay each time.

If you're not going anywhere, self-parking is fine. We loved just hanging out on our balcony, going for swims, walks in the park and down to the beach. Close to the Marina if you're into sailing or whale watching. Hotel restaurants are pretty good and lots of great choices a few minutes drive away.

Room Tip: Ask for room with balcony .

We are delighted that you and your husband chose to stay with us on your anniversary. We are very happy that you had a great stay and that you were able to take advantage of the short walk to the park and beach. We hope to see you both again real soon.

The Marriott Laguna Cliffs is one of our favorite hotels we have been there on numerous occasions. The grounds, pools and rooms are very nice and well kept up. The hotel restaurant the Vue is amazing, if you get the buffet its all you can eat from ever thing from salmon capers to fruit. If you go to the restaurant sit outside on the patio. Our room was one of the smaller ones and was on about the 3 or 4th floor and said we had a resort view but we could see down the San Clemente coast from our balcony. They have 2 different pools one is more kid family oriented and the other more adult oriented. The parking is valet only i believe and kinda pricey. The location is about a 10 min walk from down town Dana Point and about a 5 min walk from the Dana Point Harbor. I have stayed at many Marriott around California and this has to be one of the nicest. The nice thing about this resort is its right next to the beach a 10 min drive from San Clemente, about a 15 min drive to the Spectrum in Irvine and about a 30 min drive to Disneyland.

Room Tip: Get one with a balcony on a high floor

We stayed here twice last November. We went on a whim in the beginning of the month and liked it so much that we returned 2 weeks later. The property is gorgeous. The building is in the style of the famous Hotel Del Coronado with striking red gabled rooftops and beautiful park and ocean views. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and clean. It was too cold to swim, but the pool looked very inviting. The only negative is the very high overnight parking charge you are forced to pay since there is no alternative street parking near-by. You have to drive to get anywhere but the location is worth it. We used Priceline and got a very good deal so we were thrilled.

Room Tip: Don't miss the breakfast buffet. The waffles and REAL whipped cream were really good. Also, the...

This hotel is an awesome place to stay in Dana Point. Went for a birthday weekend, and it was great. There are plenty of places to go around it, and the pool is great. However, be prepared to pay the parking (a ridiculous rate for guests).

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the harbor (it'll cost you more)

Stayed at the Dana Point Marriott mid October - wonderful property - great views, took beautiful pictures of the sunset from the pool patio area, upgraded to a suite which was spectacular and the bed was the best hotel bed I have ever slept in.

Upon pulling into the driveway this hotel isnt all that great looking. It has a Cape Cod style. When you step into the lobby the style changes into a very chic and modern hotel. The lobby bar area is great for drinks but the food was not up to par especially for the price. We sat in the lobby a couple of times for an after dinner drink. It's very comfortable with couches and a fireplace. We picked a seat furthest from the bar and sat with our kids for a while by the fire (it was chilly) They also have outside seating with lots of stand up heaters. We had connecting rooms one with a king size bed and the other with 2 doubles. It was very nicely decorated. We had a view of the pool which had a spray area for children. My kids loved it and had a great time despite the cool weather. There is Dana Point Harbor a short walk through the [ark behind the hotel. There are restaurants and small shops, a liquor/convenience store and much more. Definitely better value and atmosphere than at the hotel.

Room Tip: If you aren't traveling with kids, request a room by the Laguna pool which is quieter.
