“Best Noodles in Davis”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

I feel that most regular customers come for the tea, but I come for specific noodles dishes that i feel are the best in Davis. The menu is large and most pictured on their printed menu look unappealing. I have not strayed away from these noodle dishes as nothing compares: #7. Black Pepper Sir-Fry Noodle with Chicken (udon style noodle); #30 Singapore Style Fried Noodle Stick or #32 Chow Fun option (both yellow curry with ham, shrimp, veggies); option H. Chicken Stir-fry Noodles; for a more saucy option I choose #38 Vegetable Spareribs Chow Fun but substitute with Chicken. The chicken in these dishes are white meat. The portions are very large and can easily be shared or cover a couple of meals as leftovers. Many people order the 5-spice crispy popcorn chicken (typically dark meat) that is made to order depending on how hot you want the flavor. When UCD is in session, there is usually a long line any hour of the day. Service at the counter is quick and efficient. A wait of 10-15 minutes for food or even tea is not unusual, but worth the wait. Calling in your order ahead of arrival can save time for pickup orders, but they do not answer the phone when they are exceptionally busy.

The food is a hit or miss. From my experience, more miss than hit. The workers are usually unfriendly and sometimes rude. Especially when they think you don't understand Chinese.

“Best Boba Tea in Davis”
Reviewed 26 April 2009

this place is my favorite restaurant in Davis. Being in Davis for more than 5 years, I've come to love this place for it's atmosphere and it's great food and drinks. The atmopshere is designed in this Zen style of East meets west type of decor. They have great musci videos in asian languages, which i don't understand, but it brings a lot of cultural flavor into the whole restaurant's atmosphere.

The food is terrific. A large selection of noodles, soups and rice dishes. Most of them taste very authentic, close to what i eat in San Francisco and in San Jose. The portions are very large and each order can feed two people almost, perhaps with boba drinks it's just right for a meal.

The tea drinks are awesome. I like the clear tapioca balls, which is so unique, no other boba establishments have these clear boba except for the teahouse. All prices are reasonable, food and drinks are delicious!

It can be busy at times, so I call in before hand to order so i can get my food quicker during the peak hours on friday nights...

Very popular place with my friends and I and i'm sure with so many other people. really unique place to hang out.

though the milk tea can sometime be a bit powdery, and the they overdid the sauces (too sweet, too much sauces)
But overall descent, I like their large varieties / big proportion and location.
