We had the pleasure of an overnighter on a recent Friday. First floor room, facing pool/garden area. After we figured out how to unlock and open the "sliding door", a pleasant early evening was spent on two garden chairs on a mini patio.
The Del Mar Inn is within walking distance (@ six blocks?) of several restaurants, wine bars, etc. Made for a nice walk before and after dinner.
Check-in was fast and efficient. Our room was clean. Comfy bed. Really liked the Bath & Body Works bath accessories. Also, thanks for including a shower cap! Many hotels are not providing them any longer and they're kinda nice to have on hand when you might not have enough time for a full hair washing.
The decor is proving a little outdated. Kind of French Colonial or something? I think management can do away with the fake flowers in a white opaque-glass vase on the small table.
Complimentary breakfast until 9:30 a.m. Nice array of breads, fruits, cereals, coffee, juice. Attendant was very friendly. Tips accepted. The room the breakfast was in was pretty cool-looking. You could see the ocean from inside facing west.
I wasn't sure of the occupancy this particular Friday, but it sure was quiet! Slept pretty well. One thing that wasn't quiet was the generator-sounding ice robot. That thing's LOUD!More
