Just spent two weeks relaxing in a very unspoilt part of Greece. The orchard guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay. The owners Leda and Cameron are super friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely love to go back and stay again.
This is not your traditional guest house. No lumpy beds, dank bathrooms, and shared discomforts (except maybe the mosquitos).
This is a beautifully restored Greek summer house, with all the comfort of home; including English speaking family, friendly neighbours, and a cat or dog to cuddle up with if you really want. (The lady of the house speaks many languages so don't worry if English isn't your first language).
We stayed in The Hayloft Studio and our friends were in The Old Stable. Both were very individually decorated and the photos do no justice to the quality of the rooms or the hand-painted décor. Scenes reminiscent of the great Greek arts are dotted around the place. Look out for the screen over the door in The Old Stable, or be mesmerised by the panorama scene on the walls in the seating area of The Hayloft Studio.
We got a tour of the other rooms and we are very much considering the Four Seasons for next year. Hand painted murals, and decorative glass feature in this suite of rooms.
The orchard the house is named after is much larger than we expected and this time of year there were plenty of cherries. You can also drive through it to the gardens where the entrances to our rooms were sited. The water running through the irrigation ditches provides an ongoing soundtrack that conjures mountain streams and allows for a cooling dip for hot feet.
Local shops, including a bakery, chemist, supermarkets and The Little Train are literally 2 minutes away.
The prices were very reasonable for what you get - boutique is too modern a word, but each room is unique - maybe trip advisor need another descriptor!
I stayed here as part of a group of 12 visiting from UK. If you want a base to explore the Greek countryside then this is for you.
Accommodation - stunning in every detail in a quaint and homely way. Clean and comfortable. Leda (Greek) and Cameron (Brit) were fantastic, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. Leda speaks lots of languages and knows everything and everyone so if you need to know anything - she is your woman.
Area - again stunning - lots of walking, lovely beaches, lots of interesting things.
Although this is a tourist area, it definitely NOT Brits abroad, During our entire week in the area we did not see any of the well known food chains neither were the supermarkets filled with our brands - I loved it. English is widely spoken by the locals and some information is given in English but remember this is an area focused on Greek and all tourists so expect to put some work in yourself.
Food - Definitely Greek, good quality, and relatively cheap for Europe. Service was always good and friendly everywhere we went.

This is a fairly new establishment run by the lovely Leda and her husband Cameron. We stayed here as a walking group (12 of us from Cardiff Wales) looking for somewhere not too touristy where we could experience the real Greece. The accommodation consists of 3 apartments suitable for 3 to 4 adults or children. They were beautifully decorated, very rustic in style, all with a balcony or terrace. The cooking facilities were excellent including hob, grill, loads of utensils and crockery, and fridge freezer. We did not really need so much as we wanted to sample the local restaurants! However it was great for breakfast and doing a packed lunch.
The Orchard house is situated on a slight hill in the beautiful village of Ano Lehonia opposite the church. There are two mini supermarkets nearby aswell as a butchers and bakers. There are also a few bars and restaurants in the village if you don't feel like walking too far.
The owners are so helpful and friendly if you need any advice they will help. As we had walks planned they helped us call the bus company confirm pick ups etc so all ran smoothly.
We had an excellent holiday.
