I loved staying here for a weekend escape. My husband and I spent the entire time sleeping, soaking and walking. The food in the restaurant was pretty good (great I'm sure, but we're really spoiled by amazing restaurants so close to our house and spectacularly good cooks in our circle of friends).

We started out way in the back of the property in one of the newer rooms and I was disappointed because it was so far away and the room felt a little sterile to me. Once we moved up to the "old" building in the front which they tried to steer us away from, I was much happier. It was quaint and the bed was really comfortable. Don't go expecting a 5 star resort. Go expecting some history - spend some blissful hours sleeping, wander the grounds, get a message and you'll have a blast. Hopefully, the new owners won't ruin the great history and character by glossing it up too terribly much.

Room Tip: I liked the old rooms up front best!

The beauty of Two Bunch Palms is its unique character and history and we intend to honor that in all that we do. The newer rooms are designed to be more uncluttered to allow people to relax and let go and clear their minds. We will be retaining the vintage rooms around the grotto for those who still want that ambiance. We hope to see you back soon!

My wife and I have been going to Two Bunch for two decades and we love the place. We come for the hot springs, the peace and quiet, and the beautiful grounds. The spa treatments are expensive, but David Hernandez is the best massage therapist I have ever had! He will transport you. I have referred a lot of people to him and they all rave about him. The resort has new owners and new management. They are introducing changes in increments, some good, some not so. The prices have risen, there are fewer specials and discounts, and they have cut back on some of the perks such as a basket of snacks in the room and the toiletries are now rather ordinary. The grounds look better, some rooms have been improved, and the restaurant has been expanded and updated. The food, though, is overpriced for what it is. We usually have lunch there because it is convenient, but we always go to Palm Springs or elsewhere for dinner. We love the older rooms close to the grotto which have a lot of character, but the bathrooms could use an update. I agree with the other reviewers: Gabe is also quite good and the restaurant staff could be better trained.

We have taken feedback similar to yours in planning our changes for the summer that include refurbishing all the rooms south of the grotto, but retaining the ones around the grotto as vintage rooms. We continue to train our staff and tweak our offerings. We love our repeat guests and appreciate the years of patronage through all the changes. Hopefully after the summer, you will return and we will not disappoint... Thank you!

I spent a day at the Spa last week with two girlfriends and wanted to give David a great reference for the best massage I've ever had! He used the perfect amount of pressure and I felt great---in between two days of hiking in the hills around Palm Springs. We spent about 6 hours altogether at the spa, had a great lunch in the dining room and relaxed in the pools. I hope to make it back there another year!

Our World Away Package is a favorite among our day guests. But if you're around during the summer, try coming during Twilight Thursdays. David has been with a spa a very long time and makes us very proud. Hope to see you soon!

Ask for Gabe for massage. He's amazing! I had the Bliss massage and he was flowing and intuitive with the perfect pressure. Cute, too! ;) I was only here for a few hours using the spa. The grounds are beautiful and very relaxing. The grotto had a warm pool and a hot pool and the temperature of the hot pool was up to par for someone like me who really likes hot water. The sauna was filled with eucalyptus which was a breath opening experience, but it could have been hotter. I was in there for 30 minutes and hardly broke a sweat. They sell lots of great candles, skin care items and otherwise fun spa stuff in both the spa retail area and the main hotel reception retail area. Plan on giving yourself at minimum a few hours, if not half the day to really enjoy and unwind while you're there. They have a great juice bar in the restaurant, too. Otherwise, the food at the restaurant may be good, but it's not necessarily of the healthiest fare. Great view if you sit by the window, however. And everyone was very kind and courteous the entire time I was there.

We love Gabe too! He is typical of all our therapists - their healing and intuitive skills. Next time you visit, you should attend our juicing classes and participate in our movement classes as well. Did you even get to feed the fish and turtles, and lay in the hammock? Try it next time!

We just spent three nights there, and overall had just an amazing time!
The Grotto has incredible relaxing and rejuvenating waters (something about one of the minerals showing up abundantly in those spring waters) and the temperatures are just wonderful. I love the reminder signs about rest and relaxation in process, please whisper, etc. and for the most part fellow guests even tried to observe not yakking on their damn cell phones! WE had two breakfasts and two dinners while there, the food is really first rate: a little pricey, but not unreasonably so given the freshness and overall taste and appearance quality. the service was a bit mixed: we had a very well meaning rookie waiter the first night who obviously was still getting his feet wet, and a wonderful young woman our last night. We had one annoying little experience, wanting to just drop in and get a coffee to go sit outside, we were yelled at from across the room that it "would be a few minutes" and then were ignored until we gave up. We went over to the lobby, again trying for coffee, and that young woman was kind enough to leave her post and walk over too the restaurant and fetch our coffee for us. Our room was clean, well appointed, quiet, and the bed was VERY comfortable. We did have difficulty with getting room service to leave us the right amount of Illy coffees in the morning...sheesh, coffee issues, eh? We played some great tennis on the courts, and while only doing one Spa treatment, the "Watsu a deux"was unbelievably wonderful (Thx Matt and David!) So, if you need to wind down from stress, or need some "conjugal time" this place can't be beat!

We pride ourselves in being a safe nurturing place for people to reconnect not only with themselves but also with their loved ones. We continue to address all service issues but most of all, build a foundation for an employee culture that is about taking care of our guests' needs. Next time, you return you should try the mud for couples!

My husband and I have know about Two Bunch for years but had never visited. We are just home from a 2 night stay and all I can say is WOW. If your considering going... GO! It's an experience. The newly remodeled restaurant is amazing! We ate all our meals here, and loved all the food. The staff is sweet and genuine. The waters HEALING.

I hear the rooms are going to all be remodeled soon and that's a good thing... We were hardly in our room however they are outdated... (Thus the reason for the remodel)

GO TO THE SPA! The therapists here are EXPERIENCED healers. Our therapist has worked there for 18 years! You feel safe, loved and a sense that you are in good hands!

We had room 7. It was close to the entrance however it had a private patio and that was very nice.

We will go back, oh yes we will go back!!!!!

Room Tip: They are getting ready to remodel all the rooms. (That is a good thing) we chose a room close to the...

We are very proud of our healers and our healing waters. Our renovation begins this June and we will be refreshing all the rooms south of the grotto in the same inspiration as the model rooms. The rooms around the grotto will retain the vintage feel. The property will remain open thru the summer and the first set of model rooms will come online in August. We hope you can return soon!

Recently we decided to get out of the city for a nice quite romantic weekend. It’s always good to get out of the house and rejuvenate your mind for a few days. I figured, while living in Los Angeles for 4 years I had not yet been to the weekend getaway Mecca, Palm Springs. After a hotel recommendation from a friend we decided to stay at Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa in nearby Desert Hot Springs.

WOW, was my first impression. The front desk is small and unpretentious. We were greeted and given the low-down on the resort. Our room was in the western end of the 56-acre oasis. This would be a short 4-minute walk to the main activity area that included the pools, spa and restaurant. There are a total of only 52 suites and villas here, this added to the spacious and relaxing feeling. After we dropped our things off at the room we decided to put on our swimsuits and head to the pool. It is not uncommon to see most people walking around in their crisp white bathrobes, strolling through the property. We were told about the warm pool, called the Grotto, and thought this would be the perfect place to start our vacation. When we walked up our jaws dropped. This was absolute perfection. The setting was serene and private. The natural hot springs were about 95 degrees, a perfect nighttime soaking temperature. We floated in the pool for what seemed like hours, which is great because the pool is open 22 hours a day.

Saturday morning was started with Yoga in the new Yoga Dome. The yoga dome is a 3,000 square foot indoor rotunda used for obviously yoga but also drumming and stretching classes. The concrete floor and thatch roof keep it cool for those hot desert days. Our instructor, Jivani, was patient and encouraging. The class was small with only 6 people. Not once was there ever a feeling of being crowded or rushed. The rest of the day was idyllic with strolls through the grounds, feeding the ducks and of course a visit to the spa. No romantic getaway is complete until you visit the spa. Their spa menu was extensive with massage, facials, mud baths, and much more than I could fit into a weekend escape. I might have to go back just to try them all.

The perfect end to our day was dinner on the veranda of the restaurant. The one page menu had something for everyone. The bacon wrapped prime beef tenderloin was calling my name. With a side of falafel and some custom made cocktails we were in seventh heaven.

Now this resort is an adults-only quiet sanctuary. At first I thought the idea of a quiet resort was a bit silly, but then as we enjoyed the piece and quiet it dawned on me that no one was jibber jabbering away on their cell phones, getting rowdy by the pool, or blasting the 42” TV in their room. Everyone was here to relax and rejuvenate either his or her mental and physical health or their romantic relationships. Everyone seemed to have an expression that was confident and content.

When it was time to leave Sunday afternoon it went without saying that we could not wait to book our next trip back. With being only 2 hours away from L.A. and very reasonable prices, I see many more romantic getaways in our future!

This physical transformation, including the addition of a 3.5-Acre solar field, puts Two Bunch Palms on the destination spa map as the first "Sustainable Wellness Resort" in North America and the first carbon-neutral resort. A legacy that spans several generations of guests-from notorious gangsters to Hollywood elite to romantic spa seekers-the property and its newest incarnation brings a rich and storied history full circle. This adult-only sanctuary (guests must be 18 or older) invites you to explore the four pillars of the resort: waters, spa, movement and cuisine. Their renowned, natural lithium-infused spring grotto features two mineral water pools carefully kept at a consistent temperature to ensure therapeutic and mood-enhancing properties. Guests are encouraged to "take to the 600-year old waters" and connect body with spirit before enjoying the spa well-known for its intuitive healers and authentic treatments. The new Essense restaurant features healthier gourmet dining prepared by a Le-Cordon Bleu trained chef with the help of a PHD nutritionist. With a nourished body, guests may partake in more than 35 wellness activities, such as meditation, art classes, tai chi, qigong and yoga in the beautiful new dome. ... more   less
