“Pure Zen”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

After a week long trip exploring California, we arrived for a two day stay at the Living Waters Spa and instantly felt welcomed by owners Jeff and Judy. The peace and tranquility of " Kismet Lodge" enveloped us from the lovely music, the breathtaking views, the comfortable and soothing room and the wonderful hospitality. The mineral pools are just amazing! We felt so restored, relaxed and completely "zen'd" at Living Waters. We loved the clothing optional choice of this spa... Very respectful and private. And add to all this, a healthy hearty breakfast and an enjoyable happy hour. Wonderful conversation with Judy and Jeff. We will definitely go back to Living Waters on our next trip to California. A five star desert experience!

The last months of winter are very difficult for those of us who live in the cold windy mountains of New Mexico. We discovered several years ago that if we can get away for a week or two during February-early April, we can sanely make it until the first days of warm weather (which often don't come until late May). Several years ago we discovered Living Waters Spa, and since then we have made this our yearly go-to destination for relief, rest, and wonderful company.
We love the opportunity to spend time in safe and friendly clothing optional resorts. Living Waters Spa is one of our favorites in the entire United States. Jeff, Judy, and the whole staff are the most welcoming, fun, and professional people we have encountered in our travels. Each time we come to Living Waters Spa we meet amazing people from all over the world. This year we even had the pleasure to reconnect with some people we had enjoyed meeting on our first visit.
The property is perfectly situated in Desert Hot Springs, with easy access to great restaurants and all the fun of Palm Springs. Our hosts always provide a great continental breakfast, great coffee, and always more good conversations. A great part of being a tourist in this area is coming back to the Spa in the afternoon to soak and visit with new friends for "happy hour," when guests are treated with great healthy snacks and refreshing beverages.
The variety of room choices are situated perfectly around the pool area. The large pool is always the perfect temperature for swimming laps, and the hot tub, where most people congregate, is covered enough to allow sitting for long periods without fear of getting too much sun. The rooms themselves are beautifully appointed with such a comfortable bed. We always chose a room with a small kitchen since we prefer to eat in most meals and splurge a few times at nice places during our stay, although thanks to Jeff and Judy's recommendations, we have found some great local eateries that keep us within our budget. Be sure to check out their web site, because they offer some really great deals and specials. Staying here is always worth the money. There are even condos just across the street for long term guests that are part of the complex, one of which is pet friendly. Next year we're going to stay for a much longer time, stay in a condo, and bring our dog. WooHoo!
If you are interested in trying the clothing optional experience, Living Waters Spa would be my recommendation for your first experience. If you are a veteran naturist, you will certainly feel like Living Waters is coming home. See you next year!

This was my first stay at LWS, and it was wonderful! Jeff and Judy were both charming and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. Also met other friendly guests. My massages with Lilly were heavenly. Thinking about it? Do it!

I discovered Living Waters 6 years ago while looking for a Clothing Optional spa in the Desert. There are a number of Clothing Optional places to choose from but none compare to Living Waters. The first time I called to schedule a day use, the owner, Jeff, explained the European Spa experience then explained what their guests would experience. I was hooked. The Spa is part of the Historical Culture of Desert Hot Springs which adds nostalgia to the experience. The owners work tirelessly to create and preserve a space that is intended to restore and Mind and the Soul. It is very Zen Like with a safe and respectful environment. Wonderful light music sets the tone for the day and phones and loud behavior is discouraged at Poolside. And the Massages...unlike anything I have experienced. I make Living Waters Spa a part of my experience as often as I can. You will be Grateful to have found this Oasis in the Desert!

Room Tip: The Poolside rooms are Fantastic! But the nearby Condos allow you to share the Cost and Experience...

This was my 5th or 6th time visiting Living Waters Spa. I love getting rid of my tan lines, and as a single woman I always feel safe visiting by myself. Jeff and Judy are so welcoming, the mineral water is divine, the rooms are so comfortable and there are other guests from all over the world to meet and visit with.

I look forward to visiting again very soon!

Being fairly new to clothing optional vacations, my husband investigated LWS as an overnight treat during our drive across the country. We were pleasantly surprised at how much better LWS was than we had expected! We stayed over one night-pool side w/o kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay so incredibly much that we booked a two night stay, poolside with a kitchen, on our way back through Palm Desert!
I'm a clean freak and the cleanliness of LWS was outstanding! The owners were super nice (and Chicago Cubs fans). They made us feel welcomed and at home. We met great people and made new friends.
We WILL be back!

I have been to LWS (Living Waters Spa) three times in total. Jeff and Judy (the owners) really care. They live there, run the hotel, and go out of there way to ensure your comfort and privacy. This is a small boutique spa/hotel. The mineral waters are refreshing and warming. Clothing is optional and I take advantage of the sun and no tan lines. There are always very nice social people there who I talk with as well as share life stories with. They serve a nice continental breakfast and have a snack with wine or tea everyday at the pool around 3:30pm. I have been there with my wife and solo as well. Very comfy beds and towels, both a requisite for relaxation are standard, as well as the mineral pools, where I spend my days. No TVs to distract you or bother others, its a big plus. Perfect for couples or respectful singles. I will always be back.

Room Tip: Go shopping in town and stock up on lunch/dinner items, as they have refrigerators. Some rooms have...
