This place has bad toilets and power. The owners are bad too. The man owner is good, but the woman owner is bad. The tv is bad and has only the Korean channels. The remote for the tv is broken. I had to take a shower in the dark because of the power. The place is really dirty. The swimming pools are okay too. The swimming pools were the best.

We selected this hotel because of an article in Budget Travel Magazine, as the start of a three-day tour through Joshua Tree National Park. I should have been warned when the hotel had neither a web site nor a link on the city's Chamber of Commerce! When we arrived at the property we couldn't even distinguish the entrance, there was no sign for Office and the only gate was locked up tight. We walked around the property and got into the car to drive off when the manager called my cell phone, he apparently had noticed us prowling around. He gave us a tour and we were able to choose whichever of the 16 rooms we wanted. Some had private jacuzzi patios, some had kitchens. We opted for the corner room with a gorgeous view of the valley and mountains. (There was some street noise but we turned on the fan to block it out.) There is a small courtyard with two hot spring pools, plus one interior hot pool, but the courtyard was a mess. Our room was large and kitschy with very art deco turquoise and lavender walls and 60's furniture. The floors are bare concrete, but apparently because there are hot spring water tubes under the floor for heating. There's no TV, no phone, no fridge or coffeemaker, etc. You are allowed 24-hour access to the facility's kitchen and rec room which has a very large screen TV. One of my biggest gripes with this place was that even though it was miles from the main city they didn't provide any breakfast, just coffee in the kitchen. There is a convenience store across the street if we had desired packaged donuts. Another killer was the door lock barely worked and my husband and I stood shivering out of the pool while the manager jiggled with the key. I have mixed feelings on this property. The staff was friendly and eager to please, but there wasn't enough of them because the place never got really cleaned up. The kitchen was quite messy. We only used the interior hot spring pool because the outer ones were too cold. I feel we paid too much ($110) and this was the cheapest room on the roster! It needs a major rennovation before it can bill itself as a "resort".
