“Sea Mountain Inn Resort; One of the best adult resorts in the USA by far”
Reviewed 12 April 2011

My wife and me wanted to have a weekend get away; exotic and exciting. Sea Mountain Inn and Resort fulfilled and far exceeded our expectations. While the exterior of the resort is plain and unexciting, once you enter the gates, you will experience the nicest folks running the place as well and well of some of the friendliest guests by far. There are no judgments, or expectation, and only one rule....just have fun, meet new friends and enjoy the weather. The clothing optional (most everyone was nude, all day long) was a big plus for me and the free flowing margaritas never stopped. My wife and I danced and partied all night long and really had a great time. This is a great place to vacation but not for the shy or inhibited, unless you want to break out of your shell!!!

Room Tip: Suggest a room away from the pool.

The world would be less interesting without SMI. This was our second stay, a Thursday through Saturday, and found that 3 nights is good if your focus is on the party and erotic vibe aspect of the place. And if it is, be sure to stay Friday and Saturday--that's when the day users come out, and provide the numbers needed for a really good party. SMI is the place to be if you want to lounge naked poolside, doing what comes naturally; meet (and observe) a fascinating variety of people; and party naked. We had a blast.

We had a great time at Sea Mountain over the last few days. Like other reviewers, we were a bit worried based on a few of the reviews but in reality we were pleasantly surprised in every regard. The non-stop party must been seen and and experienced, no written description can real do justice.

If you are considering going, make sure to 1) research and understand what Sea Mountain is offering from a clothing optional and lifestyle standpoint 2) understand that this is not the Ritz Carlton (which would be very boring by comparison).

We were so pleased to meet fun people from all backgrounds - all very open and accepting - at least one couple we would like to stay in touch with in the future. Everyone was very respectful of each others interests and limits.

Dewey and the staff were also so helpful and attentive. Always around and keeping the party flowing, but never intrusive. We were so glad to see how meticulously clean everything from the hot tub to the room is kept. The meals served buffet style are fine - not fancy but certainly sufficient. We went to Palm Springs for dinner one night and that is a convenient alternative.

Ye Gods Folks...

My wife and I were "supposed" to spend a week at the SMI but unfortunately, other issues got in the way but... we did manage to fit in the last two days of our visit in the area.

Small... Yep.
Intimate... Yep.
Clean... Yep.
Friendly... Amazing...

We didn't read any of the "Trip Advisor" reviews prior to staying there.
Didn't have to.
The web site, and speaking with Christina at the time of booking made everything crystal clear.
We got exactly, well... actually more than we expected.

We're not going to go into extreme details. There's no need.

The rooms are simple and maticulously clean. ( not that you will, or should be spending so much time in there ).

The staff is simply amazing.
We can't thank all of you enough... Thank-You...

If you have a problem with the drinks... "ask" for a bit more octane...
Not a problem...

Our only complaint is that they are not allowed to utilize the grill / BBQ area in the middle of the compound... such a waste... ( tears in the eyes... ).

Go there... be your yourself... relax... and enjoy people for who they are in a way that is so fleeting in our regular daily life.

Our gracious thanks and warmest regards to everyone at the SMI.

Evelyn & Steve

This was our first stay at any kind of "lifestyle resort", and for those who aren't sure what that means, you really should do your homework first before booking a stay, as we did, and just like you would with any other hotel, resort, etc. You WILL see full nudity and sexual activity. If you are not comfortable with that, this is not the place for you.

When first driving up to the Resort, we weren't expecting it to be in the middle of a residential neighborhood. From the outside, its not much to look at. Limited paved parking in front with an additional dirt parking lot on the side. We were pretty disappointed on first sight, but the fact that you have to ring a buzzer and wait outside until your reservation is checked & confirmed, and let in by a staff member, made us realize that our safety and comfort are high priority. Upon entering the property, we were utterly amazed. The outside of the property in no way reflects what you will see once inside, which was nothing short of amazing, so do not be fooled by what you see on the outside.

The Resort itself is not very big, but in this case, that is a plus . They only allow a certain number of people into the property, so you don't feel 'cramped' or overwhelmed by crowds. The staff was unbelievably friendly upon our arrival and they go above and beyond to make you comfortable. They really do make you feel like a VIP.

There are only 15 rooms, so you need to book well in advance. The rooms themselves are very clean and very comfortable. The pool is no bigger than something you would find in someone's backyard, but it serves its purpose. The food is served buffet style, and it's mostly picnic type food. It was very good, but if you want something more of a restaurant style dinner you can place an order and it will be delivered to you. They do have complimentary drinks, but you are also welcome to bring your own alcohol if you have preferences on what you drink.

The dance room is a little small, but it is open to the pool and hot tub area, so even if you aren't inside the room, you still feel like you are a part of the party.

Over all it is a very comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. You never have to feel self conscious for any reason, and the staff and the guests were extremely friendly. We absolutely loved our time there, and even booked our next visit before we checked out! Thank you Sea Mountain staff for a wonderful experience!

The place is HORRIBLE! Run down, dirty, seedy. We were SO disappointed. Rooms are plain, NO maintenance has been performed in 30 years and there is obviously no cleaning crew. We pulled up and thought we were in the wrong place! Save your money and RUN!

Disgusting Fraud? Why Of course no maintenance has been done in 30 years- not one time has anything been maintained or cleaned in 30 years. Imagine 30 years where not even a broom has set forth and cleaned a crumb of years of mountains of fried chicken piling up on the floors. We of course jest ,and joke-- We elf's of SMI Love to smile--however, the Sea Mountain believes that to fully function in a 5 diamond way, cleanliness is one of the key ingredients to a spectacular vacation. Our wondrous female maintenance crew works hard and lovingly preparing the ultimate safe and comfortable location. Out pools are monitored by the State and County very often and our services always get an A rating. We wonder if this article author has ever been to the sanitary and clean Sea Mountain Considering the Fab and Wonderful Sea Mountain Spa Hotel Day Club and land of Love has only been open for 4 years in the Palm Springs Desert Hot Springs Southern California Location. We enjoy feedback!

I went with someone who wanted to share the experience of a nudist resort with me. Neither one of us had been to SMI before. He booked the trip and hoped for the best. I on the other hand looked up everything I could on the resort. I was very nervous and after reading some of the bad reviews I wanted to back out but knew I couldn't. My friends were dying to hear all the juicy details.

I am so grateful for not canceling! It was beyond my expectations. It went against every assumption and stereotype I had in mind and others had placed before I went.

I was expecting something tacky, dirty, raunchy. I was expecting to be surrounded by over tanned, over done, over excited individuals that looked like they just stepped out of a seventies porno! lol! I was expecting it to feel pervy and invaded. However, it was nothing like that.

It is in the middle of a residential area, which I thought was nice because it gives you the sense that you should not hide or be sent out to the middle of nowhere like social deviants.

It was very secure only allowing guests to be buzzed in after confirming reservations. You walk in and you feel better already seeing that the place looks very personal and homie in a very zen sort of way. I think many people hear the word resort and expect BIG, COMMERCIAL, OVERDONE....and some people might like that. And if I may say...i think some people like big and overdone to somehow show off.as if bigger means better and more. So not the case! I think that people who know the true value of things and have some sense of class know what I mean. The place has only fifteen suites which is great because it gives you a sense of exclusivity and personal attention. I don't want to be lost in a resort of hundreds with no one knowing who we are, checking on us to see if our needs are being met and needing something and having to wait for someone to get to you after the tons of other people they are servicing.

The place feels like a vacation in a very personal hacienda. I didn't go there expecting caviar, sushi and escargot! lol! That is not what we thought we were paying for. We were paying for a beautiful room, privacy, one on one attention, and relaxation. That is what we got. If I'm laying out naked by the pool, tanning, reading a book, etc. then I expect my meal to match that. We had a picnic style lunch with salads, crackers, fresh fruit, soft drinks, cookies, cake, juices, margaritas.... It was just right and very good.
The breakfast was oatmeal, bagels, toast, fresh fruit, juice, milk, cereal, granola bars, ..

And for those that are offended by the"sexuality" at the nudist resort! lol! Really? Oxymoron? lol! Also, if you did your research beforehand as to where you are spending your money you'd know what the place was about. I figured out quickly what lifestyles resort meant. I knew what to expect and what might go on before my eyes.
Everyone was respectful. There was love making going on but it was sweet, sensual, soft and almost didn't notice it was going on.

The margaritas were great! And as a mexican, I find it offensive and yet ignorant for someone to claim that it was water down tequila like tijuana! First, why does a lesser product have to be from across the border and second of all.....all tequila is mexican. The unlimited margaritas, vodka shots and tequila shots were delicious and dewey made it fun and cute to enjoy them with my date.

I walked out with my cowgirl hat, braids, wrap thinking everyone is going to stare and make me feel uncomfortable our out of place...amd the first thing I got was a set last that complimented my look.

I felt more respected, comfortable, beautiful and accepted there undressed that I ever have at a club or bar! That is sad to say.

I find it fascinating that people pay so much for rooms at hotels during their travels and get a continental breakfast at most if they're lucky and give rave reviews. Yet, You get all the above, plus twenty four access to ice cold soft drinks, water, tea, ice, crackers, fruit, granola bars, pretzels, etc. and it's still not good enough? Maybe they should offer snack machines like other places and no lunch. Maybe then the whiners and ignorant would be happier.

Oh yeah and now all my skeptical friends....are planning to go for their anniversaries!

I loved it! Maybe I got lucky that weekend but that's a lot to write off to luck.
