Nestled in Diamond Bar – just off the 60/57 fwy exchange, is this wonderful little authentic Peruvian cafe called “Intiraymi Peruvian Restaurant”. Nothing spectacular, but very neat and clean. Let me just say, food is amazing! It’s hard to find great tasting, freshly made AUTHENTIC Peruvian food in our neck of the woods (Diamond Bar area). What a little gem!
Once there, you must have their toasted, lightly salted, corn kernel appetizer called ‘Cancha’. (Once you pop, you can’t stop!) Their bread rolls come lightly toasted with a spicy, creamy “Aji” sauce. Try to not fill up as their meal servings are quite generous.
All ingredients are fresh and dishes are made to order. The flavor is amazing and you must savor each bite... My dish was the “Aji de Gallina”, which is a garlicky, almond, cream sauce blended with chicken, served over blanched potatoes and a side of white rice. Oh-so-Delish! My ‘significant other’ tried the “Lomo Saltado” which he claims was very good! While there, try their house blend purple punch – “Chicha Morada”. It’s made with blue corn and the delicate flavors of spices and fruit all blended together, serve chilled. So refreshing!
Service is good. The ladies that run the place are courteous and very attentive. Good place to bring the family! They do offer lunch specials for under $10 – give it a try! Ample parking, no reservations are needed. Casual dress and prices are reasonable. :)
