This was my first stay at a Hyatt (at least one I remember). I usually stay at Hilton and Marriott brand hotels. I was passing through on business and chose this hotel for its proximity to the Camp Parks Army Reserve Center and the freeway. I must say that the hotel is beautiful inside and the lobby reminds me of the modern compact hotels in Europe. The lobby was narrow and was connected to the bar, right next to the breakfast area. There was room to sit and relax, however, it was obvious they saved the important space for the rooms. The rooms were large and immaculate, and very well-laid out. There was a fireplace with a large TV over it. There was a sofa, ottoman, and desk area. In addition, there was a fridge and sink area behind the desk area. The bedroom area was separated from the livingroom area. The king sized bed was very comfortable and plush linens and pillows made it feel luxurious. The room temperature was wonderful. Although the bathroom was on the small side, the sink area outside it had ample space to hold your products. In addition, there were three drawers connected to it. The closet was small, but a decent size for a business traveler. My room was located on the main street/thoroughfare side (the mountain side), and I couldn't hear a thing. I loved the view--I could see the mountains in the day and the lights at night. The customer service was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, to the morning server, everyone was friendly, courteous and professional. Breakfast was good with hot and cold fare available.
The location was superb. It was located in the same parking lot as Hacienda Crossing, a shopping area with many restaurants and a Regal/IMAX theater. Whether you are looking for something fast and fresh, or a gourmet sit-down dinner, you have a variety of places from which to choose. The best part of all this, everything is in walking distance, which is good because parking in front of the hotel is limited. I had to park near the gas station next door, but after getting out of my car and returning the next day, I realized that wasn’t a bad spot to park in. I felt like a kid in a candy store with so much shopping and entertainment within my reach. Overall, the hotel was comparably priced, beautiful, offered great service, and the location couldn’t be beat. I will definitely consider looking at other Hyatt hotels in the future.
