We are locals but hadn't been to Penny's in a couple years, so decided to give it a try. We visited with friends for lunch and all our orders were perfectly done and delicious. The atmosphere is a 50's diner complete with music from the era - the only thing missing was the tabletop coin operated jukebox. We had such a great meal that we went back again a couple days later with our grandson to try breakfast. Once again, everything was cooked exactly as ordered, it all arrived together, and the toast was piping hot!

If you are a local or just passing through, don't miss this little gem.

Was passing through and stopped at Penny's. The service was amazing. James was the host, waiter, server, cook, busboy AND dishwasher! At NO time did we want for anything. James needs go be commended for a outstanding job. BRAVO!!

We live 15 miles from Penny's Diner and hadn't eaten there for several years. Recently, we found ourselves in the area for breakfast. Don't be taken aback by the lack of customers. This restaurant is open 24/7 to take care of the train personnel, travelers and locals alike. It seemed a bit odd that Robbie was the only employee working the morning that we arrived, but he was certainly up for the task! He cooked, he refilled coffee, he chatted, he bussed tables and he was the cashier. Robbie was personable, the food was decent diner fare, and the prices were reasonable. My husband had the kilbasa special ($8.99) which was delicious and huge! We took home enough in the doggie box for another breakfast. I had the french toast, sausage and eggs. The french toast was very good and the sausage was of better quality than other restaurants in the area. All in all, we enjoyed the food, the oldies tunes, the charming environment and our waiter, Robbie. My only complaint would be that the restaurant is too hot temperature-wise for my liking and I certainly would like to see more patrons take advantage of this cute diner when in the area.

We stopped by this hidden gem on our way back home. The diner was spotless and we were promptly greeted by Robbie when we walked in. The menu is short and simple, classic diner food, and the prices are hard to beat when you see the portions. It's classic 'home cookin' and you can tell these guys really take pride in their job. Watching him prepare food, while enjoying talk among regulars about the current sports, or town politics gives for some entertainment while waiting. The quality of the food was outstanding, and there was even some left to go. The friendless, cleanliness, and quality is something that we will come back for anytime we are passing through. Thanks Robbie and Pennys for some great service.

Traveling on 5? Stop here! The food is great and made to order. Friendly service. Take time to chat with the owner...he's a Bay Area transplant and has some great anecdotes.
