Despite our reservations about going to a chain restaurant we decided to give it a try, mainly because it looked good from the outside.

The service was below average. It took a while and a reminder to get one of our drinks, then bread, then our salad. Manner of wait staff was okay but not friendly at all. Having said that our waiter was knowledgable about the menu.

The decor and atmosphere was okay but when we got to the table it had a paper 'tablecloth' and crayons on the table. The waiter made no attempt to remove the crayons from the table.

The tapas dishes for starters were not too bad but seemed to have been sitting under the warner for too long. Mozzarella wrapped with prosciutto especially seemed overheated. The meatballs were okay but nothing special.

I had a steak that was ordered medium-rare but was served very rare. I normally don't have a problem if it's a little rarer than ordered but this was pretty much blue. The mac and cheese side was not very tasty and the pasta had a gluggy consistency. I ate most of the steak but let the waiter know it was too rare at the end of the meal. He just said, "Sorry about that" and that was it. I was not expecting a replacement at that late stage of course but an offer of a free drink or something would have been a nice token gesture.

My wife had a chicken pasta in a creamy sauce. There was very little chicken in the dish but apart from that tasted okay.

The Caesar salad we ordered (salad was not included in the main dish price) was minimal with only lettuce, dressing and croutons. The lettuce was fresh though.

The waiters gathered around a neighbouring table at one point to sing Happy Birthday (in Italian) to a patron at one point however it was a very subdued version with the waitstaff looking like they were having teeth pulled! One of those things they have to do under orders by the look of it.

To summarise, the whole experience was far from enjoyable and the food was well below par for the price. We certainly would not return. Not recommended.

While our server did her best, the food was late, cold and salty. The venue was chosen by my partner, and as this was my 3rd tie here, I was thinking just maybe it would be the charm. Not so....stay away from the whole wheat past----glue

A full bar does not make up for the dull, SALTY, so SALTY food. Never go with friends and ask for separate checks-you'll never get out alive.
