I have no idea what everyone is on about. The place is beautiful. There is a river on one side and a mountain on the other. A bunch of pools and spas (jacuzzi). Yeah its old but its all about where you are. I would definitely stay here again. Get a King River view room its worth the extra.

Room Tip: Get a River View King

We were booked in here for 3 nights in July 2014 in oreder to visit Yosemite National Park. We had been apprehensive as accommodation is limited for the park and the reviews for the hotel had not been flattering. We found the hotel to be very good. We had booked two interconnecting rooms for family of 4 and were then given a large house type room. The lodge is right beside the Merced river which is very attractive. We even saw a snake near the swimming pool which entertained all the guests! The pool was very nice and popular in the evenings after visiting Yosemite. The rooms were clean and well air conditioned. There is a short drive to get into Yosemite and plenty of parking available there. I would advise people to do this rather than paying for a YARTs bus transfer.
A downside was the restaurant facilities. There was a pizzeria and a larger restaurant. However, they were too small for the number of guests staying there as there is no other option for eating nearby. We had to wait for a table 45 minutes on the first 2 nights. The food was fine and unfortunately we ran into a very rude waiter the second night. We opted to get a take away pizza the third night. There no cork screws in rooms so get a bottle of wine with screwtop if you intend dining in room. There is an excellent shop about a mile down the road with petrol services also.
Wifi is not free here.

What an adventure this turned out to be. After reading the reviews we were expecting a poor hotel, however it was ok and in a great location. We booked a riverside room which was large and comfortable and great views. Tea and coffee was provided in the room but you were expected to wash up your own cups but a draining board and tea towel were not supplied. After a great day in the park we came back to the hotel for a dip in the cold spa pools. After about 10 minutes the spa stopped working and it was the it noticed how dirty the water was and when checking around the area I noticed how dirty the whole area was. When we got back to the room we found all the power was off which we assumed to be off because aircraft were operating in the area with a forest fire which was quite close to us.
We went to reception to see what was going on, should we leave etc. The staff were very unhelpful and we were made to feel like a pest, many people were shouting and trying to get answers which were not forthcoming. The café food area was closed so the only food that was available was in their shop which had a generator. The food was snapped up quickly and there is no where else to get any.
The power came back on about 5am the next day.
It is difficult to recommend this hotel because of the staff attitude which is take it or leave it we will get some more customers tomorrow.

Stayed here at the end of July as part of our honeymoon. Arrived very late due to car hire issues in San Fran but we got there and front desk was still open and helpful.
Definitely worth upgrading to a river view room but make sure you ask for a clear view as ours was blocked by several large trees so could only really hear the river and had to go down to the patio below to get a good picture.
Location is perfect. A five minute drive to the main park entrance which makes the hotel good value for money. Food on site was good although $13 each for breakfast seems a bit steep when you don't even get a glass of juice included! In this day and age you'd think it's pretty standard to get juice or even a glass of milk for kids at no extra cost. Limited Cooking facilities in the room so could have made our own breakfast. Pizza restaurant was good with good choice, fast service and tasty food. Swimming pools are small but there are a few dotted around so plenty for the high number of guests they seem to receive and they are open until 10pm.
$20 per car for the pass to get into the park which lasts for one week.
Good stay and will definitely recommend to my customers back home.

We stayed here as part of a long trip across the US. It was very hot while we were there, and we had some issues with the air conditioning, but we managed to work it out and the room did cool down. We had a "mountain view" if you looked out of the window at the right angle, with a squint! Our room was large and clean. The TV did not work, I phoned reception who, told me they were working I it, but I suspect this wasn't entirely true! The bathroom was also large and clean, with 2 showers, although neither of them really worked. We also had a spa bath in the room, which we tried out. It was ok. There was a loud buzzing noise which kept me awake, but I couldn't work out what it was. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was very busy, hence the service was very slow. I didn't really enjoy my meal, but that was probably more to do with my choice than the food itself. We didn't eat there for breakfast. I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Yosemite lodge is located conveniently close to the park entrance, and is in a very nice environment itself. Rooms are basic but ok, with a kitchenette and a small balcony. There's a shop, laundry, a restaurant with bar and a pizzeria. There's ample parking space in front of the blocks. The outdoor pool close to our block was large with 2 big jacuzzi's and ideal for a swim after a day in the park.
Wifi has to be bought from AT&T and is very expensive.

When you book, make sure you get an appartement which looks out on the Merced river, which is very nice. The room itself is really spacious and there's plenty room on the balcony to enjoy the river side.
