We stayed here 2 nights as part of a fly drive tour and to of everywhere we stayed this really was a let down. The service was not great, the room was vile musty and dowdy we experienced ants everywhere which was just gross.

The breakfast was shocking, could not even call it a breakfast to be fair.

Sorry, but would not recommend this place.

Yosemite was stunning, but not here!!

Room Tip: don't stay here

Everything about this hotel is average. If it weren't so close to Yosemite, I doubt people would stay here. Don't even think about sleeping on the sofa beds as they are so uncomfortable. Bring your own toiletries as what they provide is nothing special- more for emergency use. There is a refrigerator, which was nice so we could keep snacks on hand. Restaurant and a cafe are within walking distance but expect fried foods or expensive dishes.

I suppose who you are dictates what you are looking for, If your a troll then you might find these dark dingy rooms perfect, myself as a human was looking for the ability to see the room I was staying In, what a disappointment. We booked through a well known travel company, and it was patently obvious that this lodge thought us as lesser customers for just that reason. If you intend to spend your time in Yosemite national park it's good, you are mere 20 min away, but frankly the thought of going back to our room at the cedar lodge was a bitter pill to swallow. Other than the rank decor and crappy TV reception the mood on the front desk wasn't on par with the Californian hospitality we knew of, unhelpful at best.
The one major point Must stress is do NOT eat at the on site dinner, my wife spent the next day doubled up in pain, and it ruined our final day in the park. Save yourself a bundle, go and camp, that way you can get a nice light tent and can avoid E. coli. Ohh dear cedar lodge, you could have it all, but you just didn't seem to care.

The room is clean and tidy (even though towels were taken to be washed and not replaced one night we were there). However, the service at check in was poor. I cringed for the person in front of me that wanted two keys for their room but were being refused the extra key because the hotel was full and they only had "less than 40 for the whole place" left behind the counter. The snide comments made between the two reception staff after the customer left (eventually with two keys) were downright rude.
We ate dinner twice at the restaurant. Both times the meals were mixed up and poor quality. We ended up asking for meals to be put in boxes so we could eat in the room because they had taken so long. They also got our drinks wrong, and made a mistake on our bill.
In all, the room is good. But expect little more. The amazing scenery in the Park more than makes up for it!

I stayed at Cedar Lodge for more than a week while attending a photo workshop in Yosemite National Park. When I arrived I found that I had been booked into one of the few (4?) stand alone rooms on the property.
What I enjoyed was having a large room with twin queen sized beds without neighbors or adjoining room noise. The room was clean with plenty of towels that were replaced as needed during the week. The heating/AC worked well. The nights were cool (30's for part of the time) while some of the daytime highs were into the low 80's so I had a chance to use both modes. There was also a small mini-trig available. I also liked the fact that the property had two restaurants, one a full service venue, the other was a grill with a salad bar and more limited hours. Around the property were plenty of places for picnics and/or grilling out. Although I didn't use them there were also two outdoor pools (and one indoor pool) and a wooden deck behind one of the buildings that would be good for lounging around and relaxing. Desk service was friendly and helpful.
What I would change would be the dated furniture and appointments. I would also warn travelers that cell phone signals in the area are almost impossible to come by and that there is a $10 a day charge for wireless. Cable options are very basic and a little fuzzy.
Compared to other properties in the area it is lower priced than most. And, the drive into Yosemite National Park is relatively easy. It is certainly worth considering if one is trying to save some money over the prices of lodging within the park.

We chose Cedar Lodge because of its proximity to Yosemite NP and because we wanted a kitchenette. We stayed facing the hill behind the motel, and it was quiet, not too packed as it was March 21st. Lynn checked us in and was nice and efficient handling our requests for top floor away from highway noise. We were in a 'junior suite'. There wasn't much 'sweety'' about it except the selections of soap, and shampoos. The bedroom had 2 queens and they seemed very soft when I sat on it. Amazingly we had a great nights sleep on those beds. The tub/toilet was in its own room and were very clean, great water pressure. The single sink vanity was plenty wide for a cosmetic bag and shaving kit and hair tools. The kitchenette left much to be desired. All the knobs for the cupboards were sticky, one of the stovetop burners didn't work and the selection of cups was laughable, 3 little brown plastic restaurant juice cups! Mismatched cutlery, but at least 4 settings of each. There was a dish drainer but no drip pan for it. I used my own pan to make our breakfast. The only thing going for that kitchen was a full size refer that worked well and a microwave that was clean inside. The television worked very poorly, most stations did not come in well at all. When we first came in the room, the bedroom was very warm and stuffy. We fiddled with the a/c and it appeared to not work. Maintenance came to check it and promised to send a replacement conditioner. They arrived within 10 minutes with a new unit and were puzzled when they went in the room as the existing unit finally kicked in and was doing its job well. Don't expect any continental breakfast, evidently the restaurant didn't want to have competition with the hotel serving their guests a bite to eat in the morning and this was the transition weekend for the restaurant opening for the season. The lodges lobby did have a microwave available for guests to use and had a lovely gift shop. All in all, the place was tolerable because of the price and location. Staff was nice, attentive to our requests and prompt to show up to our room. Don't expect much in the way of the room though.

We stayed here for two nights arrived after a twelve hour drive from death valley and we're told to go straight to the restaurant before checking in as they stopped serving food at eight thirty!? lots of people were Still arriving later having done the same trip and were unable to eat, surely the hotel realises this happens and could keep the restaurant open longer. If you are lucky you can find a parking space near your room.
The room itself was dark and had a damp and dank feel to it, the bed sheets felt greasy, the fridge was so noisy we had to unplug it. There was no hot water in the evening or even the next morning. Very dissatisfied
