“Dirty, grimy place with good beer selection”

Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey have lots of great beer. However, it is showcased very poorly in their brewery tasting room location. It is just downright gross from the dirty floors, barrel table-tops and bathrooms. The crowd was also a bit sketchy as well. This place just didn't have a good vibe. When I left, I felt like I wanted to take a shower. It's too bad because I wanted to have a couple of their beers but there was no way I was going to stay beyond the one.

The bathroom was so gross that they had rubber strips hanging from the ceiling that you have to walk through to get into the bathroom- like you are in a carwash. It's unsanitary and disgusting.

This could be a good place to visit if they'd clean up a bit. Otherwise, I'd head elsewhere.

This brewery has a fantastic selection of beers. I consider myself a beer snob, have been to Cantillon, Westvleteren, most of the breweries in San Diego and Colorado and this brewery is one of the best. Great staff, fun atmosphere, it is a working brewery, so nothing fancy and a great price! Only a dollar per taster. They also give a simple tour of the brewery, it is very informative and funny! They do a great job with sours and barrel aged wines. There are also food trucks on most days. Fantastic place, make sure to go if you're in town.

A group of us toured this and the Stone Brewing company recently. The Stone Brewing experience was better by a landslide. Having said that, the beer wasn't too bad and there are worse ways to spend an hour. The Shark Attack was my favorite.

Prices are low so it always seems like happy hour. This is where Stone started and the good brews keep coming. It's a brewery where they threw in a bar and several taps. The crew was nice and the options are overwhelming. Had decent shirt and take home suds options.

Please ignore the only two poor reviews and listen to the rest, as the beer and staff here are great. Do a taster ($1 a piece, for the ones the bartender decides to charge you for) of everything they have there and truly enjoy the breadth and diversity of their fantastic lineup. I wish this place was down the street from me. Best brewerey tasting of the 8 we did in San Diego Nov2011
