Go for the history. Enjoy family style comfort food. Nothing fancy here. Hearty fare at a good price is what you'll find.

This restaurant was recommended by family members. It is very unique
given its history. We had a great meal of fried chicken, ribs, potatoes, and
corn. It was very good, reminded me of dinner at my grandma's house.

If you want comfort food, this is the place to go. We went for breakfast and had biscuits and gravy, pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice, and tea. Nothing fancy, but very tasty. As it is all-you-can-eat, we were very stuffed when we left. The server was very good, and we never had to wait to get seconds.

Awesome to see all the old relics and pictures of how they worked and lived and ate back then. Prices were reasonable, food was very good, and served family style. It was actually nice to not have to decide what to eat as there is only one meal served at a time. Location was very nice also, people were very very friendly.

We live in Humboldt County, and almost never go here. The atmosphere is fun, but the food is typical of a cookhouse providing hearty food for hard-working men. I will say, the soup, salad, and bread are good. The meat is pretty much fried and tossed onto the table on a platter. Every once in a while we decide to give it another try, and when we do, we remember why we don't go there anymore. The date of our visit is incorrect--I had to fill it out, but can't remember the last time we visited. We have many good restaurants in this area--try them.
