Pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the bed. Comfortable and clean so good value all round. Free wifi and complimentary breakfast was a hit and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for budget, short stay.

Stayed 2 nights. Planned on going out first night but room so comfortable I was tired and decided to just stay in. Walked down to Subway and got "dinner." Room had everything I think one would need, i.e., microwave, fridge, coffee, iron, radio, furniture, etc. There was a large dresser, so since I was staying 2 nights I unpacked. Didn't need all the drawers. For Eureka this looks like a good place to stay. Clean, walking distance to dining, not a bad area. As reviewed it is on busy street (hwy 101) but noise didn't bother me. Only thing made me nervous was the parking. Guests can't get the concept of parking between lines. One morning there was a car so close to my F150 I don't see how a passenger could get out. Also the V St exit says go to the right. Must be a reason but I observed people exiting to left. And exit on 4th St looked to narrow to maneuver my F150 so I used the V St exit. All in all I would definitely stay here again. Oh yeah, staff very friendly. First night I left tip for maid but she didn't take it.

I reserved this motel based on other reviews on tripadvisor and am happy with the stay. There was some traffic noise due to the proximity of the motel to the road, but the traffic slowed down at night and with the air on, we did not really notice it.

My only complaint would be the area that it was in...kind of shady, but we just made sure that we brought in all of our stuff and made sure that the doors were locked on the car. No issues.

Basic breakfast in the AM with bagels, muffins and toast.

Good place to stay for the night if you are just passing through.

The exterior of this hotel is newer looking and the property was very clean. The rooms were clean as well but are very outdated. There was an enormous couch in our room that looked like it had been plucked from a yard sale. The room was very large and comfortable (although we didn't sit on the couch). We attempted to go to bed early but found the street noise loud until about 11pm. After that, it was quiet until about 5am when the noise started again. The hotel is located on a busy street, so I'm not sure there is anything the hotel can do to decrease or prevent the noise.

Stayed here based on others' comments that this was well above your average Rodeway Inn. They were right. Front desk guy funny and helpful. Rebooted wifi on demand when it didn't work for us. Room was excellent, clean and felt almost new. "breakfast" was very simple, but got the job done. Would definitely stay here again without question. Also really convenient easy access from Highway 101.

Room Tip: Only need a place to sleep and nothing more? This is the place.

My daughter and I arrived exhausted and late to Eureka and most hotels booked. Called Rodeway and they had a room. Manager very nice, room clean and beds comfortable. They just need new pillows! There was an envelope on the TV that was marked for tips. You earn tips you don't ask for them.

Perfectly fine if all you need is a clean, comfortable place to stop for the night. The hotel is located on 4th Street, which is actually Highway 101, so traffic is fairly constant, though not as heavy at night.

Our room was a bit dark but quite spacious, the bed and bedding were comfortable, the fridge was a little bigger than some chains offer, and we had a good wifi connection. We passed on the included breakfast, which was basically cold cereal, bread and pastry, as we had stocked up at the very good North West Co-op further south on 4th Street. I think it was at the intersection with C Street (Rodeway is at the intersection with V Street), but if you look out for the Travelodge on the left (big sign visible as you drive), the co-op is opposite. It has good hot and cold take-out food, fresh produce, etc.

Eureka’s historic downtown area is there too – worthwhile taking a walk around to admire the old buildings and attractive shops. The much-photographed Carson Mansion is nearby. It’s a private club today, so unless you know a member, you won’t be able to go inside. But bookstores in the historic section of town carry illustrated books about the mansion – lots of photos of Victorian excess.
