“Nothing exceptional, good for an overnighter”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We were driving through and needed a place to rest for the night and for that this location was perfect. The room was clean, and the beds clean & comfy, and though the carpet looked clean it sure seemed dusty. The bath & towels were clean but the towels didn't exactly have that fresh smell, or they were just not dried properly before storage! if you get what I'm getting at.

The breakfast was ok, had enough to get you by. The muffins were awesome though ...

Overall an OK experience. If on a budget, it's good enough or to rest overnight. From the choice of locations in Eureka (based on reviews of the other motels), this seemed like a better deal!

Clean, big room with really comfy bed. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast could have more fruit but other than that it was good. I really liked the layout of the room we stayed in and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed earlier this month. Interesting fellow at checkin. Let's just say he is on top of the situation and knows what is going on in his motel. Room was large, couch was a bit old and my wife refused to sit on it. Interesting color scheme in room. WiFi worked on and off the whole time, hard to get used to that. Slept quite well, had breakfast and off we went. Not sure if we will ever be back in the area.

I went in to ask about cost for the night and the grumpy old fella told me it would be $94. Seeing this as more than advertised, I asked about a AAA discount. He said yes, they do that. So I asked for the new price and he said $94. We should have gone across the street, but were super tired. I decided to check in anyway. After checking in, he said with a grump, "no smoking, no pets, and don't steel from me because we inventory everything". I really took offense to that as we are an honest family. Before he finished with me, he took a call and scolded the caller for trying to cancel a reservation.

We went to our room and it smelled like a litter box masked with some kind of air freshener. I thought he said no pets? And maybe shampooing the carpet might help? But he was clear about not canceling, so we were stuck. The beds were pretty soft and comfortable, but they were the smallest queen size bed we ever used (doubles, not queens as he said they were). And the free breakfast was just a bowl of cereal and a banana. Add in the spider bites we all woke up with and it has to be the worst place we stayed for a long time. This guy is cheep and it shows. We run through this town at least once a year and have other employees that visit much more on business. I will make sure none of us ever stay here again.

This hotel surely isn't anything special, but it is very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. We stayed here 2 nights while exploring Redwood National Park. The rooms are furnished funky with green carpets and red bed covers, but there's a nice TV and fridge plus microwave. The hotel is right along Highway 101 but it was quiet during the night.
The breakfast is nothing special but it covers your basic needs and the guy in charge makes sure there is plenty of everything until the last minute. That being said: We definitely would come here again. It's clean, well-kept and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Only downside: When there's a lot of people staying at the hotel, the wi-fi sucks. Works well late at night or in the morning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with good wi-fi coverage.

Room looked surface clean and smelled funny. The room is fairly large but furniture looks thrown in. Bathroom had mold and did not look or feel clean. Towels were dirty. Not recommended. Staff was nice and it was in a good part of the town, but not a comfortable stay.

This was a spur of the moment trip, and did not plan ahead for accommodations. So with that in mind you are left with what is left for the weekend. We checked several hotels in Eureka, most were very pricey, and filled up.
This hotel was very nice, clean and affordable. Dave the manager was very helpful, even showed us a couple rooms so we could pick and choose what we needed. I would definitely return here, and recommend staying here.
