We stopped here while in the area. We were doing a factory tour day of Jelly Belly Factory and Budweiser as they are within a short drive of each other.

We stopped at Budweiser first. Tasting room was fun; free beer (yippee!!!)
We enjoyed the tour as well.

This is a factory and tasting room tour (not a tourist site like in St. Louis which we have visited also.). It is still fun to go to.

Thank mini

This was a great stop. When we walked in, they were prompt and friendly, asking us if we had reservations. We didn't and so they put us on a waiting list. We were able to get in very quickly for the free tour. They started the tour with a choice of four beer and a video. The tour included assembly lines of cans and bottles and a look at the enormous steel containers that hold the beer. After the guided tour, we looked around in the gift shop. This facility was very well kept and extremely clean.

I've been to several of the other Anheuser-Busch breweries and this one was the least impressive that I have visited. I am unsure if it is because of the merger with In-Bev or the lack of a bottling facility or that the factory is one of the smallest in the distribution chain, but the tour was less enjoyable than previous visits to Jacksonville, St. Louis, and the now defunct tour in Williamsburg.

First, the tour guide only offered us a single ten ounce serving of one of In-bev's products. Second, the products offered were not even bottled in the factory, they were sent in from another brewery. Third, and probably most important, they informed the group that they did not offer Budweiser, because they did not receive their order. It would have been unthinkable that when the Busch's controlled the company that they would offer Belgian & German Beers but not their flagship brand.

One positive from the tour was that we were able to go on the factory floor and we were able to enter the tank rooms. The guide seemed knowledgeable, but there was really no reason to ask any additional questions. If you have never been to a brewery and are I the area, it is worth a stop, but if you have been to other Anheuser-Busch breweries in the past, you will be disappointed.

We went on the Brewer Master tour. Our guide was very informative. It was very cool in some the rooms so bring a sweater. The plant was very noise. You get a Bud baseball cap, a glass and a diploma . And lots of beers to taste at the end. It was $10.00 per person.

There is not much to the factory tour. You get led around and see some of the equipment but it is hard to make out what is going on. Also, this facility only makes canned beer so entire areas of the factory are now dark and empty, which makes the facility appear that it is on it's way out. We were expecting a beer tasting at the end of the tour. Instead, they give you a glass of beer (or soda) at the start of the tour. You get to select the kind you want and then you drink it while you sit and watch a video and listen to the guide give you an overview of the history of the company and its players. The information was interesting and the beer good so one really cannot complain, especially considering this is a free experience! Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Tip: We combined this with a visit to Jelly Belly (within a mile) and Il Fiorello Olive Oil (ten to fifteen minutes away). There are also some nearby wineries that would round out the day well.
