The location is fine, everything else is poor.

The lack of service, inedible food, absence of site maintenance, etc. - might all have been bearable if the price had been commensurate. But it wasn't.

Gonen charges as if it were a 3-4 star hotel and in return provides amenities and accommodation more appropriate to a doss-house.

We are Israeli and therefore have some experience of what is available in this lovely part of the world. Will visitors from overseas please look elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

If you're looking for a nice place to stay during your holiday in Ramat Hagolan - this is not the place!
We stayed at the 2 bedroom apt (not doco) for 2 nights. (1 bedroom and living room with folded sofa). Rooms were not clean with stains on the walls! There was no kitchen. We had to clean cups and spoons in the toilet sink.
Breakfast was at low standard and not well organized.

Rooms were ok, dinner wasnt served. Although it was supposed to. The hotel didnt compensate as promised. Big rooms are ok, simple rooms are very basic. Local free tour is great. Breakfast is ok dinner is poor. The parking can be far from the room, for disabled people its hard to move there as the hotel room is on a hill.

This was my second stay at Kibbutz Gonen. My first time was in 2009 as a participant on March of The Living. This time, I was fortunate enough to stay in the 'Nofei Gonen Holiday Village' and was very pleased. We received two chalet cabins for for people, which were rustic and quite charming with modern touches. The price was definitely right too. The kibbutz is located in the beautiful Hula Valley and boasts spectacular views. If you plan to stay here make sure to come by car as there is not much bus or taxi access. Also, make sure to take the 7 minute drive and check out Kibbutz Teva Naot to stock up on some half-price Naot footwear! If you plan to dine at the Kibbutz, I may suggest looking elsewhere. For the hefty price of 80 NIS per person, the dinner buffet did not live up to expectations. In addition, breakfast is included, but again, was just okay. If you are looking to stay in Israel and really experience the beauty of the north I would strongly recommend Nofei Gonen Holiday Village.

Room Tip: Spend the extra little bit for a chalet cabin. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed three nights at Nofei Gonen as part of a group. I certainly would have left sooner had we been on our own. Our cabin was filthy - the pull down blinds wouldn't roll down as they were stuck with grease - I had to wash them to use them. The sheet on the bed was torn and never replaced for three nights despite having asked at reception. Service was non-existent. They seem to specialise in large groups - especially school kids. One assumes they aren't that fussy! The meals in the self-service dining room were chaotic mainly because of the numbers being fed - not a nice experience.
