Community sponsored. Good collection of historical photos and things from the Indians, gold miners, Pony Express, railroads, water developers, growth of the area. On old Sutter street in a historic building. Exhibits show interrelationships of all the above events. Also see Power House State park.

Lovely place with some eateries around...don't miss if you are in the area. Has a old world charm to it and we especially loved the quaint little stories alongside.

The train/metro from downtown takes you right into this area

This Museum is typical of small town Gold Rush museums up and down the Mother Lode. It works as part of the Sutter St. Historical District.

This is a small museum, but packed full of the interesting history of Folsom. Displays give you the history of the mining days, the building of the railroad, the Folsom Prison and history of the first power sent to Sacramento. Of course you can also learn a bit about Johnny Cash! The docents are well informed and the special exhibits are well presented.
The Quilt Show presented yearly in February is an excellent display of wonderful work. The gift shop is a good compilation of books, children's toys, homemade items and memorabilia at reasonable prices.
