Hartford Family Winery presents any number quality wines and considering the price point...well worth enjoying. Their Pinot Noir is my favorite and goes well with a meal or just enjoying company.

This was the worse tasting experience in our many years of wine tasting! The setting was beautiful and it stops here..... The staff was distant, cold and totally uninterested in offering a pleasant experience. They rushed us through the tasting giving barely a description of the wines they were pouring. The wines were over priced compared to other wineries in the area. Staff members while pouring touch each and every one of our glasses each and everytime with the spouts. Never have I seen this....totally unsanitary and unprofessional. They refused to deduct the wine tasting fee when a purchase was made, stating we prepaid our tasting fee. When clearly it is stated that tasting fees are waived with purchase. Why would it make a difference if the tasting fee is prepaid or paid on site?? Definely poor customer service and no way to run a business, especially since we had 8 people in our group!! Don't waste your time going to Harford when you could have a much better experience at so many other fine wineries throughout the region. With the exception of Hartford we had a wonderful time visiting the wineries and restaurants in the Forestville/Geyserville region. Beware of Hartford Family Winery! This is my first absolutely negative review written, but felt I needed to warn my other trip advisor followers......

We really enjoyed the wines at Hartford. They had been recommended by a wine merchants in SF and they did not disappoint. Big fruit forward wines the Pinot and Chardonnay was divine.

We found Hartford to be a charming property, located in a beautiful area near the Russian River. While the tasting room's interior may look a bit dated, it is still well constructed, neat, and tidy. Tastings are average priced and are waived with a bottle purchase.

Our server was very friendly and fun to chat with, but not especially knowledgeable about the wines or the history of the winery. Hartford wines are well known in "the industry" for their quality and consistency. We thought they were all very good and didn't taste any that we didn't like, but they are fairly expensive. Around these parts of the Russian River, there are several wineries who offer similar quality, but are a better value for the money

Our favorites were the Fog Dance Pinot Noir and the Hailey's Block Pinot Noir, both $60. The old-vine Zins are also especially good.

Hartford is worth a visit...
