I visit Fort Bragg yearly and have always wanted to stay at the beachcomber but it was always full. This time I put in a reservation 90 days ahead and got an upstairs king room with a million dollar view at a great price. Slept with the sliding door open to hear the surf, it was great. The continental breakfast was just enough to get us going in the morning, oatmeal, cereals, muffins, toast, rolls, many juices, fruit, tea and coffee. We will be back again but for at least a three night stay to fully enjoy the stay.

Room Tip: Try to get room 201-205 for what I think are the best rooms upstairs.

Stopped here for the night at the end of a two week road trip, and this was one of the nicest places we found. Just off the main road, but as quiet was could be. There is a walking/biking trail that runs right in front of the rooms on the beachside, but it was not an issue for us. We requested a downstairs room, but if you would perfer to leave the windows open and wake up to the fabulous morning views of the sand and surf, there are rooms upstairs also. Breakfast is continental, but toast, bagels and instant oatmeal were available for something tummy warming. Check-in was a breeze, and the discounted room rate was right in the ball park. Highly recommend for a stay in Fort Bragg area.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean, but the walking trail may send you to an upstairs room for a little more A...

I've been staying here occasionally for over 10 years, most recently in September, 2011. This was my first visit in 4 years and it was nicer than I ever remember. It looks like everything had been upgraded and the bathrooms were a lot nicer than I remembered. They were even nice enough to waive the $20 dog fee this visit. The location is just at the north end of Ft. Bragg and is a cheaper alternative than staying right in Mendocino, especially if you want to go somewhere with your dogs. The motel is almost ocean front, with some headlands in front and easy paths down to the beach. The beach is dog heaven, and usually has few people on it. There's free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, and a comfy bed. I like to travel with my dogs when I can and this place is about as good as it gets for dog friendly accommodations. Even so it is very clean, and even staying in one of the dog friendly rooms you wouldn't realize it was such a room.

Room Tip: For just a little more than the cheapest room you can have one that has sliding doors that open to a...

This motel has the most beautiful views and sunsets. The coastal trail runs right by, great to enjoy a walk, etc. Great place.

My Wife and I recently returned to the Fort Bragg / Mendocino area Where we spent our Honeymoon almost 36 years ago. and have occasionally visited from time to time over the years. One of the things we have allways enjoyed was the peace and quite of this area the romantic feel, great sea food the rugged coast and beaches. (especially Glass Beach), This hotel was very knowledgeable in the local activities, events and sggested sites and eateries. They are very close to the surf and beach area and within short walking distance of great views.
I would recommend to anyone traveling to Fort Bragg area to stay at this hotel it offers great views is easy off and on the main Highway, very clean, close to food and downtown.. This is the second time that we have stayed here and will visit them again.Great value !

Room Tip: staying on the second floor offers great views. (my choice) but if you like stepping out of your roo...

My family recently had a family reunion at the Beachcomber. What more can I say: Great ocean-side views, wonderful service, comfortable and quaint accommodations among many other intangibles.

Fort Bragg is a small, yet friendly and beautiful community. For a small town there's a lot to do- golf, shop, swim, etc.

All-in-all, I'll keep it simple, If I ever go back to Fort Bragg, I will stay nowhere else but the Beachcomber.
