We were traveling through the area, and I wanted to find someplace local to say for just one night. The Country Inn was very accommodating for a single night's stay, in spite of that night being Saturday. Needless to day, the entire experience was lovely. There was wine in the common room in the evening, and breakfast in the morning couldn't be beat. Christine was a wonderful hostess and we really enjoyed our stay!

It was our second trip to The Country Inn and the new owner has spruced things up. The room was comfy, the common area much more welcoming and the breakfast yummy! Great service and a great location for all Fort Bragg has to offer.

Room Tip: I have been in the front of the inn and the back. Both rooms were comfy and quiet.

We spent a night at the country inn B& B in Ft.Bragg, CA. It is on a Main Street in a town that has seen better days. The outside of the Inn looks a little run down though the flowers are pretty. The inside is better and the mgr, Christine is very sweet and helpful and made a delicious breakfast.
There is no a/c which might bother some people, but it does cool, off at night. The rooms are small but decorated in period style and pretty.

Room Tip: Try downstairs. The room by the back door has a little sitting area that looked cosy. There is a sha...

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Since your visit we have added fans to all of our rooms to aide in air circulation.

The exterior of the building is a traditional redwood exterior that you find on many of the historic homes and B&B's in this area. Thought was given to painting the building when we took over, but the decision was made to maintain the historic integrity of the redwood. The home/Inn was build in 1890 by the Union Lumber Company. The exterior looks much as it would have in 1890 with the addition of landscaping, of course, and gingerbread detailing which was added in the late 70's.

We decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Fort Bragg/Mendocino and found limited rooms available at short notice. There were rooms available @$250 (and up) per night in both towns, but for sleepy little old Fort Bragg, and even for Mendocino (which has seen better days) we did not want to spend that much. Although Country Inn had mixed reviews we decided to give it a try and are glad we did. Yes, the decor is very dated; especially in the sitting area. That room is most definitely stuck in the 50’s, but we didn’t spend much time hanging around the inn anyway. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we had no issues with the heater or with the noise that other reviewers mentioned. The bathroom was very small, but the innkeeper informed me of this when I made the reservations and reserved the last available room. We stayed for two nights and very much enjoyed the breakfast both mornings. I agree with reviewers that the times are not the most convenient, but with two seating options we just made the best of it. Coffee and tea were available from 6am which was appreciated. For the price point of this inn we thought the food was above average. We stopped by the inn on Saturday afternoon to drop off some purchases and found the innkeeper setting up wine and hor dourves (which we learned she does every Saturday @5pm). We stayed for a glass of wine and some good conversation with other guests before heading out again, and found the experience very enjoyable. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful when it came to restaurant recommendations. The inn is with walking distance of both the beach and town. Two other couples we met there were repeat customers, and we would also return to this inn if in the area again.

Room Tip: Spring Promise has a very small bathroom, but otherwise comfortable.

Under the new owner/manager Christine, the Country Inn Fort Bragg is “diamond in the rough” . All of the 7 nicely furnished rooms and rustic coastal exterior provides a comfortable stay at this Fort Bragg B&B....located just a few miles from the town of Mendocino. Our delicious breakfast consisted of an egg and squash frittatta topped with avocado slices, slices of thick sliced bacon, accompanied by fresh baked Monkey Bread and fresh brewed coffee. Just a few minutes walk from downtown Fort Bragg introduced us to rustic Fort Bragg. Our comfortable stay at a reasonable price made our stay that much more enjoyable. As we checked out we wish we could have stayed an extra day to enjoy the Saturday afternoon special treat of complementary appetizers and wine from a local winery, We hope to come back soon to the Country Inn in Fort Bragg.

To start off, we got a room for 85$ midweek, with no 2 night stay requirement. We were looking for cheap and that is what we found. It was also our first B&B stay.

We stayed in the Chantilly room and it was comfortable, it included an enclosed bathroom with a shower (with a hairdryer, bar soap and a combo shapoo/conditioner that did well for my hair), two chairs, a table, a luggage stand/closet and did not have a tv. The room was under the stairs, but I never heard people going up and down them after hours (not the kind of place where that would occur late at night).

The place itself had a front and back door that were kept locked and it's main attraction was a hot tub (kind of home-style, where we removed the top to use it)! There is a little common lounge with sofas, a fridge, microwave, and tv. Finally, breakfast was served at two different twimes (8:15 and 9:15) was absolutely delicious! You could have coffee, tea, milk, or orange juice. The meal started with a homemade parfait of bananas, apples, yogurt and granola, then she (Christine, the manager/cook), brought out a plate of scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and fried potatoes. They were all phenomenal! My mom, who accompanied me on the trip, and doesn't really like scrambled eggs LOVED these with spinach, onions and herbs and her secret, a little sour cream instead of milk. The toast was a multiwheat delicious variety and the sausage and potatoes tasted great together. I felt that it was a perfect sized meal as well.

Finally, a corgi lives in the personal part of the house that was incredibly sweet :) To be clear, the dog is obviously kept out of the rooms, I only saw it once in the morning. Furthermore, I'm incredibly allergic to dogs and had no reactions in the inn.

Bravo Country Inn B&B for providing an excellent value B&B for our stay :)

Tip: Walk down the street a few blocks for ice cream from the Cowlick's place and pizza and a carafe of wine from Piaci's!

This is a place that you can stay at and feel as if you were at home. At first I wasn't sure about this place because of the reviews given in history's past. I then found out that it changed ownership. I took a look at the place and yes the outside shows the expected signs of a 100 plus year old building and the quaint feel of a country home. This place gives you a relaxing mood right when you first walk up. It is definitely not your modern built Inn. The inside is a touch of home, very clean and every setting set with a purpose. Each room has it's own theme and has it's own unique quality that separates it's self from the other room's. The Inn keeper Christine fits the mood of the Country Inn and is very interested in your stay at the Country Inn. She was very responsive and informative of the local attractions. Now as for the breakfast that you get served, it is not your basic bowl of cereal or muffin and orange juice. There is a variety of food cooked that you would find in a high end restaurants that you would pay $20 a plate for. For me that is a winner in the morning. What I have read and heard of in the past does not justify the new ambiance of The Country Inn. This is not your Motel 6 so if you are by yourself, a couple or couples out to enjoy your stay in The town of Fort Bragg and wish to enjoy yourself, this is the place to go. It's an upscale establishment.

Room Tip: Each room has 1 bed and it's own qualities, but the one that stands out is the King size bed and...
