As my title says, the Columbus Day weekend was full and we had to cancell Carlsbad Cavern trip because of good old Govt Shutdown...so Medocino here we come. The hotel was clean and well appointed. the older couple was very accommodating an knowledgeable. Near Skunk Train and Glass Beach. Walking distance to the Tap Room where you can taste the beers of North Coast Brewery....excellent, excellent...try the Rasputin dark, my wife wanted to bathe in it. The pizzas were very good as well.

My mother and I stopped here for a night while on a road trip and were very pleased. The owner, Don, was super friendly and helpful, as was his son. When I called to make the reservation, Don answered the phone and by the time I'd hung up, I'd received all sorts of good tips on the best highways to drive on for the most scenic views on our way there. Upon our arrival, his son gave us lots of info on where to eat and the best place to catch the sunset. In the morning, Don was there, personally refilling everybody's coffee cups and giving out more info on things to do and places to see. Although the motel itself is quite dated, it was reasonably clean and quite comfortable. The only suggestion I might have would be to replace the carpets, as they seemed a bit old. I would definitely stay here again, as it was a nice place at a reasonable price.

We hosted a group (25) for a visit to the Mendocino coast. Don gave us a great rate, and went out of his way to be helpful. We really appreciate all his help and hospitality. Travelodge has the best location, an easy walk to the beach or to downtown Fort Bragg.
