The Seabird Lodge is a very good value in the off season. We paid $59 a night (no food package) and found the place clean, the room a decent size with a refridgerator(King bed) and the management very friendly and responsive. This is not a place for those looking for hot tubs and champagne and ocean view, but it is a reasonable place to work out of to see the sites and sounds of the Fort Bragg/Mendocino area. The management is willing to chat with you and recommend good eating places. We did find mold in the shower, but they immediately responded when we let them know, and they appreciated our letting them know. I would definitely recommend it for those looking for value.

The Seabird Lodge is at the south end of Fort Bragg, easy distance from Mendacino without the high prices. We got a terrific package deal with two night stay, two days breakfast and one night dinner, plus an extra box of chocolate truffles. The room was clean and roomy, including a refrigerator. Only thing missing was a bottle opener for some of the locally brewed beer. The hot tub was also being repaired, so we didn't get to use it. There's plenty of parking and it's close to shops, restaurants, hiking, and state parks.

the rooms were comfortable and clean, hotel employees friendly and helpful, good value, it was a rainy weekend so we stayed indoors for the president's day holiday and it was just fine! 02/22/05

I recently visted Ft. Bragg for the first time and stayed at the Seabird Lodge, which is really close to the Noyo River and harbor. I was turned off by their website as there were no reviews from any major (or non-major) publications, yet they are AAA approved, so I thought that was ok.

Plus, I spoke with their employees (before and during the trip). They were really nice and friendly.

Nonetheless, I stayed at the Seabird and the area is really nice--just off HWY 1 and is convenient to Mendocino Village. The pool is kinda small (6 ft. deep) and the spa jaccuzzi is great to unwind to.

Their rooms are of avg. size and clean. The maids were also nice and friendly, keeping our room tidy and fresh. So no complaints here at all.

Also, if you do decide to use their package deal (2 night stay with 2 breakfast and 1 dinner certificates), definitely utilize it, esp. if you're on a budget trip. Their choice of resturants were good and we enjoyed both our breakfasts and dinner! They weren't cheesy, cheap or awful restaurants either.

About Ft. Bragg, as a whole, it's a nice place to visit and to get away from the City. There isn't much to do, unless you are a huge art, wine, antique fanatic. Looking for a nightlife? There wasn't much either except to hang out the Old Coast Bar, which is really nice and awesome fries btw.

Originally, we tried shooting for a B&B, which are really pricey (even during off-season). The Seabird is a safe, clean and nice lodge. I would definitely stay there again if I visited Ft. Bragg.
