“Original California Mission”

Rebuilt to the specifications of this 1700's California Mission on the original grounds. A nice visit to the mission church and cemetery along with a view of the small but adequate museum.

“Mission San Jose”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Mission San Jose is in Fremont? That's the response I hear most often. It was named in honor of St. Joseph, not the city bearing his name and, yes it is located in Fremont.

It is a calm oasis in a relatively large city. Located on the Eastern edge of Fremont along Mission Blvd it is one of the 'beads' in the California Mission's rosary.

“Not Real Impressive”
Reviewed 27 July 2013

Pros: Was real adobe architecture

Cons: Very little history provided. The buildings are all rebuilt and not original. The bathrooms were awful and the toilets weren't completely functional. Basically something you can walk through very quickly.

“A fine example of Old California”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

This was our last stop on our quest to see all the CA Missions. Admission was inexpensive. We spent about 40 minutes in the museum and gardens and the main chapel. The chapel is well restored, but none of the out buildings currently exist. For a mission, I would say the museum was average. Like most of the CA missions, Mission San Jose is supported by admissions and the Catholic Church. This is not a state park.

“A nice day with your daughter”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

My 9 year old Daughter and I paid a visit last weekend to get Material for her 4th Grade Calif. Mission report. It cost $5 for the both of us. We pretty much had free reign where to go. We enjoyed our selves and yes you enter and leave via the gift shop. No problems but I will give you a heads up! When you buy the Mission Booklet for $9.95 there are post cards in the booklet that you assume are part of the $9.95 but you get charges $12.75 total...So maybe by separately?
