For our last meal before packing into our place in the Sierra, we sought a restaurant early on a Sunday morning for a hearty breakfast. We were not disappointed.

We each ordered 2 eggs and 2 pancakes, not realizing that the pancakes were gigantic! The eggs were cooked according to our requests and the pancakes were very light and airy. So in spite of the size, they were devoured.
We had ordered a side of fruit which, although a bit pedestrian in terms of the type of fruit, was fresh, ripe, and tasty.
The only improvements we suggest are making a decent espresso drink (the lattes were weak and seemingly made from a mix) and using good maple syrup in addition to other flavors.
The service was fast and friendly. We'll stop by again next time we are in Fresno.

After reading a review of this restaurant in our local paper, we visited Batter Up Pancakes for a late breakfast this morning. We had an all around great experience! It was busy at 11AM and we waited about 15 minutes. We were immediately greeted by friendly, courteous staff and this was also true of our server and the owners who seated us and frequently came by to refill coffee. Our food was hot and delicious and the price was comparable to IHOP...definitely not overpriced (IMO!). Evidently they have made a recent change and now offer table service. We enjoyed our experience and will return again.

We were visiting from England and decided we wanted to eat out for breakfast. We were taken to Batter up Pancakes. When we arrived we had to wait an hour to get a table, once seated we were told you had to go upto the tills to place your order. Knowing what the portion sizes in America are like, I decided to opt for the 1 2 3. This was a combination of 1 pancake 2 eggs and 3 bacon. I found the food to be of average quality and was not too impressed by the pancake either.
The time we had to wait and the quality of the food was not impressive; therefore would opt to try somewhere else for breakfast.

We have visited many times before but today we wondered at the empty parking lot during lunch hour. Very shortly we figured out the answer.

Prices have gone up quite a bit and there's no more waiting on yourself. Those two things alone added quite a bit onto our bill. There was a tip jar before which we stuck a dollar into for them dropping your food off at your table but since you waited on yourself for everything else you saved money. And the breakfast was a little pricier than other places before but I have always been able to share a breakfast with my partner. Now prices have gone up to $12-$15 per entree, portions have diminished, and you have to buy more food than before.

Without a doubt, the food is good and the pancakes are exceptional but while the pancakes used to be very large they aren't that way anymore. As I said, we've visited many times before and could get out the door for $17 or so which is reasonable for breakfast that included two cups of coffee. Today, we had to order more food and we left spending $26 and didn't even have coffee. That's about a 60% increase over what we have spent here historically. It's good but it's not THAT good. We have concluded our patronage.

I decided to take a long detour after reading the great reviews for this place but I was quite disappointed. I ordered the omelette with a pancake. The pancake was delicious but the omelette was swimming in a sea of oil! I was not able to eat it. My husband ordered an omelette also and it was the same situation. If there is such a thing as omelette soup, this was it! The orange juice is fresh squeezed but very pricey. If you stick to the pancakes, you'll be fine. They offer a variety of really unique pancakes.
The restaurant does not offer you waitress service. You must order at a counter and pay for your food first. You must grab your own utensils, napkins, and water. I guess the unique method of ordering prevents dining and dashing which is something you may want to do ( the dashing part) after you see your omelette swimming in oil.
