A great way to spend an hour. The underground house and gardens were amazing. The Italian gentleman took when could have been a hugh mistake and made a beutiful place to share with others. The guides could answer all the questions and one after the tour explain where the original entrance was and the auto path. When I saw the outside, I wondered why we were going to see it. now I would recommend it.

This was not what I was expecting! When you pull up it looks like nothing, but stay. It is very unique and you will never see anything quite like it. Check times for tours as they run every hour, and there isn't much else to do while you wait.

Amazing and easy tour, even when it was 100 out the house was 80 degrees or less. Great guides and while it costs a bit, you will never see anything like it. Lovingly cared for, and while the sign is hard to see, it is well worth the effort. I grew up in Fresno and had never been here, what a gem! My family was amazed, definitely a place you want to take visitors of all ages. I learned so much about what one person can accomplish, very inspirational and amazing.

To concretize a cultural experience, I brought my students to the Forestierre Underground Garden. I gave them a little background so that they knew what to expect. When the bus parked, I explained that the shrubs and bushes that were visible from the windows were really the top of trees.

We had a great tour guide who explained the history of the place, why, and how it was built. The place is an epitome of making the impossible possible. As we toured the underground levels (there are three of them) that featured Baldasare's (builder of the gardens) summer and winter rooms, kitchen, dining area, and reading corner underneath his fish pond, my students were simply in awe. In addition to the hand-dug rooms, Baldasare's green thumb yielded grafted trees that were capable of bearing multiple fruit varieties.

There are more surprises in this place. But it is simply more than a show-and-tell venue. It boasts of architecture, wonders of gardening, and amazing change in temperature. Fresno could easily have a 100 degree forecast; but underneath in the gardens, it will be about 30 degrees cooler.

This is where I bring visiting relatives and friends. It is an experience they appreciate and will definitely always stay with them.
