Stumbled on Hopscotch this summer while visiting Fullerton. Wanted a light dinner and drinks with appetizers. Ordered drinks first with crab tots. Drinks were great as we're the tots but the tots we're not enough for four and a bit overpriced. Wish the appetizer menu was a bit more extensive with a little bigger portions, and would include calamari. That is the only reason I did't give it a 5. We went on to order dinner and we're glad we did. The tri tip was wonderful, the most moist tri tip we have ever had. I ordered the fish and chips, and was glad I did. No grease at all. Large pieces of fresh fish and wonderful seasoned fries. Overall our experience was outstanding, and the service was friendly and knowledgable. Not cheep but would go again.

We asked some business associates for some recommendations. They said HopScotch!
I had no idea that this unassuming exterior could send out such amazing food. The alchol menu is extensive: Scotches, boubons and beers; Oh My!
Outdoor seating was better choice than inside. Even the proximity to the Amtrack station didn't disturb our evening.
Skip the blue crap tots. 5 tots that had some flavor but were overshadowed by the entrees.
We asked our server for his recommendations. Tristen suggested the Allagash White
and we were not disappointed. The Tri tip beef dish was an incredible medium rare deliscious-ness. The winner was by far the Duroc Pork Chop with apricot brandy demi, sweet potato hazelnut pavé, corn succotash!!! So tender you could cut it with a butter knife! The flavors are incredible. The chicharones were light and Crunchy.
Service levels were excellent.

While in town on business, we stopped in and enjoyed easily the best meal we had while in the Fullerton / Anaheim / Orange area. I had the lengua and cheek chile relleno which was excellent as were the crab tater tots, but the star of the show for everyone at the table were the crispy pig's ears. They were a salty and limey snack that is perfect with beer! It was also Wednesday which was 1/2 off wine, another pleasant surprise. Next time we're in town for business, there is no doubt we'll be back. Go check out this unique menu and solid bar.

Cigar smoke from patio races into indoor dining area-no escape from odor. Horrible customer service. Employees are uppity. Owner was uncompromising despite customer service feedback and near empty restaurant during mid day. Appetizer portions not large enough for party of four-prepare to get your own. Bill for party of four with two alcoholic beverages~$135.
Spicy burger had no flavor, mac and cheese was very good but portion was too small.

Crispy Pig Ears is served with roasted Fresno coulis and lime. These are amazing! I've had pig ears before off of a roasted pig and just love the crispy texture and roasted flavor. HopScotch's version is cut into strips, fried to crispy perfection and tossed in a seasoned salt mixture which matched perfectly with the porky flavor. The roasted Fresno coulis was a little spicy, but comfortable, with a sweet, roasted flavor that paired well with the crispy pig ears. This would be perfect as a snack during happy hour or shared as an appetizer before brunch. Warning, they are addictive so try not to fight over the last strip! Thumbs up, way up!

Rocky Mountain Oysters are veal fries (testicles) coated in blue cornmeal, deep-fried, and served with citrus crème fraiche and sour beer salsa. Okay, there is nothing to be afraid of with testicles. I've tried testicles from bulls and roosters and I really like the texture and flavor. It's not off-tasting and has the texture of a pate or soft sausage. The flavor of HopScotch's veal fries was creamy with the texture of a soft boiled egg. The cornmeal added a crunchy texture contrast. I think the sour beer salsa was a little too acidic, but I liked the spicy zing. I would have liked a sauce made with the crème fraiche for dipping or no sauce at all. Thumbs up, way up!

Crème Brulee French Toast is made with brioche and served with espresso pastry cream and lemon Chantilly cream. Wow! This is the best French toast I've had in a very long time. They singe the top of the French toast just like a crème brulee so it has a hard sugar glass crust. The espresso pastry cream looked like peanut butter but it tasted like thick espresso custardy goodness. The lemon Chantilly cream was fresh and light as cloud. Thumbs up, way up!

What's brunch without a Crafted Cocktail! Naughty or Nice is made with blueberry infused port, lime juice, simple syrup, ginger beer, and 1 ounce of Larceny mixed "nice" or as a back "naughty". It has a refreshing berry flavor. Larceny Bourbon was smooth and oaky. This drink seems more like a spring/summer drink, but with our beautiful California weather, we can drink this anytime! Thumbs up, way up!
