Mix Fusion is a new storefront cafe located in the Old Town area of central Galt. It's easy to miss the small sign on the door as you drive by, so you need to keep an eye out. Parking is free and strictly on-street. If there is an event going on at the Estrellita Ballroom next door, it may be hard to find a space. Decor is bare bones, even a little kitschy, so this is not the place to go if you want atmosphere. But the food is delicious. As the restaurant's name implies, the menu features an eclectic assortment of Asian specialties, mainly Korean and Thai, but also including Chinese, Japanese, and even Asian tacos and burritos. Entrees are plainly presented, but very modestly priced and an excellent value for the money. The owner/chef and his wife, who waits the tables, are really nice and very helpful. I hope this restaurant survives, but I have my doubts--I went there for lunch with a friend on a Friday and we were the only customers. Galt is a burgers and pizza kind of town, and Mix Fusion's more exotic fare may be a tough sell, and its hard-to-spot location doesn't help.
