Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim - South

We are back for our every-couple-of-years-until-the-kids-get-older trip to Disneyland. Last time we stayed at another hotel (2012, Residence Inn) but this time we wanted to stay a bit closer. I know that this ES is one of the hotels you can see Disneyland's fireworks from - if your high enough.
So, "good but just shy of excellent". All the things you can expect, no matter where you stay near Disneyland at this time of year: long lines, crows, noise, everything taking twice as long as you planned it would, were frustrations during this stay, this is not stuff the hotel can be blamed for. This Embassy Suites has some really good things going for it: great staff, neat - kid friendly - breakfast/dinning area (even has an animatronic lion perched up on a fake mountain in the middle of the dining room - our girls loved it!). The only thing that keeps this hotel from earning an Excellent for this trip is the room. We went way out of our way to book early and paid a premium to get a corner suite (billed as bigger) we could see the DL fireworks. The room could really, really use a remodel. The housekeeping staff did a terrific job keeping it clean, really clean, you can only hide the need for a remodel only so long buy a great housekeeping staff. The only other area I found odd was their was no shade around the pool. No patio furniture with shade built in - nothing.
The only other weird thing was the TV. No on-demand movies, pay per view - nothing but a cheesy laminated channel list more in line with a Motel 6 (even they would have, probably, had a better one).
Beds were good but not great. Not sure if they were the new kind Hilton has been advertising Their was nothing in the room that said they were - that I saw. The pull out bed was REALLY bad. Although, they all are REALLY bad.
So - get out and enjoy Disneyland - you cannot go wrong with this hotel, however, if you ever hear they have remodeled their room, run - don't walk - to make a reservation.

Room Tip: The fireworks view was really worth it - the kids really loved it.

My son and I enjoyed our trip to Disneyland. The ammenities, such as complimentary breakfast, evening reception and reliable transportation and Wi-Fi made the Embassy Suites a desireable location to stay. It was helpful that you could also buy Disney passes on site.

I've stayed well over 100 nights at this hotel, dating back to the old days when diamond members got to enjoy the managers reception in the bar. That perk itself was not what kept me coming back, but the service of two food and beverage members.

Nabil and Ruben are truly the best Hilton employees I have ever met. I've been a diamond member for 14 years and travel extensively, but these two guys are the best of the best.

I live on the east coast, so I occasionally have the opportunity to bring my family and have for the past 8 years. They treat my wife and children like family. Even when I'm forced to stay at another local property due to this property being booked, I make a point to stop by and see the guys.

Great job to the management here. It's rare to see so little turn over in the hotel industry. But that familiarity with the staff is what keeps returning guests coming back.

Breakfast and managers receptions can be a nightmare at other Embassy's, but not here. The lines appear long, but you breeze through. If I owned a hotel, I would pick this staff up and move them to run my property.

Just finishing up a 6night stay for business. But looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the good work Ruben and Nabil, and Jeff you have a great staff

We stayed here recently whilst in transit from LA to San Diego - our stay was unconnected to Disney. The setup at the hotel is excellent & everything we expect from Embassy Suites. Checkin superb, parking ok, room was good, although a little dated.

Breakfast was busy by 7am (probably because of the Disney crowds), but staff were helpful. The one major downside of this hotel is the lifts are poor. There are 2 sets of lifts (one for each side of the hotel), but for a family of 4 with a significant amount of luggage, the set up is dreadful. When we left at 8am, we waited 10 mins for a lift to come & even then had to cram all the suitcases in with one person into an already full lift.

More lifts are needed, and/or faster lifts - the current ones passed our floor several times. Also a better staircase option too - this would make the lift problem less of an issue.

I would stay here again, but not if we had any luggage that needed to be moved around by lift. A shame really.

This was our first time staying at an Embassy Suites and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was located on the fifth floor and faced Disney, so we could see the Disneyland Fireworks. You could not here anything in either room when the bedroom door was closed. The beds in the room were comfortable. However, my mother slept on the pull out bed and it was not so comfortable. You could feel the bars directly through the bed. You could tell the room was a bit old, but it was not bad at all.

The amenities provided were also very good. The housekeeping did a great job each day and the breakfast buffet had enough variety to go five days without really ever repeating the same thing for breakfast. We were here for a Disney vacation, so the proximity to Disney was also good. It is a little over a mile walk (about 30 minutes with two small kids), but you can purchase a hotel buss pass that drops you off and picks you up at Disney. It may be a bit more than parking at Disney with two small kids, but it is better than catching the bus/tram and transferring things multiple times.

Our only real complaint about the place is the elevators. They were horrible between about 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. You would literally wait about 10 minutes before you could catch an elevator. We took the stairs one time and ended up in the back outside and had to walk around to the front. They either need to re-program the elevators or add elevators.

If you can avoid the elevator issue, this is a great place to stay for a Disney vacation.

My wife and I brought our two-year-old to good ol' Anaheim for her first Disneyland visit. We stayed at this Embassy Suites for two nights and we were incredibly pleased.

The hotel itself is fine. As you'll see in other reviews, it's not the newest or nicest place in town but it gets the job done:

-Room was large and clean (bed and bedding would be the one area that could use an upgrade)

-Free daily breakfast (Omelette bar, other hot items, fresh fruit, etc. put this well above average for free breakfast. Great value here)

-Good shuttle service to Disneyland (read some reviews that this was public--but it's a private company and only services Embassy and other two hotels in same lot.)

-Amazing service. This was most pleasant surprise. Allain at front desk took care of us from the start. Everyone in hotel was incredibly accommodating. And above all the rest, was Pat the bellman. He was really sweet and made our stay extra special. He found out on the first night that we were celebrating our daughter's second birthday and the next day he brought up a little gift and a personal card. Such a sweet thought and gesture. Allain, Pat and the rest of the team are definitely going above and beyond to make their guests feel special and welcomed at the Embassy Suites.

The place was great and the family enjoyed having place to stayed at. The front service and room service did great job. Also,I had no problems with that. I will tell my family and friends to go a place to stay.
