Being a single female traveling alone, one has to be very carefull. Upon arrival, with in 3 minutes I knew that I was staying. What a great place, great location and great food. And the staff Linda, was the best. Made me feel at home, safe and very welcome. She made suggestions where to go and what to see, and you should come check this place out!!!!!A LITTLE CHUNCK OF HEAVEN

We have been to Patrick Creek Lodge several times and have always found it to be a place to recharge. The trees are everywhere in this quiet valley. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. Each room is different and has a feel of its own.Listening to the sound of the creek as you fall asleep is delightful.

We booked at Patrick Creek on the basis of location and web info. Arrived late, found a wonderful deck down by the creek where we could snack and chatter till we were ready for the very comfortable beds. In the morning light, we walked around, had a nice breakfast in the lovely dining room while being entertained by the resident ducks out on the lawn. So we booked four more days and when they were passed we wished for another week!
This is a fine example of historical lodging; not sterile boring modern, instead it has comfortable, wonderful buildings and grounds obviously loved by both owners and staff.
Set at the confluence of the Smith River and Patrick Creek, we spent days walking trails by water, explored the historic CCC campground across the road, took Short drives to hike in Jedediah Smith and Prarie Creek Redwoods, swam in gorgeous river water (didn't even use the nice pool at the lodge). We ate most of our tasty meals in the friendly dining room, cozied up to the charming bar, or felt welcomed to play cards and enjoy our own snacks in the by the big fireplace in the parlor.
The hilarious ducks provide entertainment and we were glad for no TV in the main lodge where we stayed in a big clean, bright, upstairs room with fridge for our bread&cheese, and a big porcelain tub with excellent shower.
Menu items ranged from nice plain to fancy, and given the realities of a remote location, the variety was impressive. Nice vegetables!, perfect fillet mignon, real key lime pie, solid oatmeal or eggs for morning.
We were made to feel at Home.
Can't wait to return!

We arrived at this lodge after a long day of biking. The lodge and rooms are quaint with pieces of history scattered around. We got settled into our room and explored the grounds. There were some short scenic walks there and at the park across the street. We chatted at length with the hosts and staff about our trip and where we were going the next day. They all agreed that we needed to change our route. After some discussion Linda had a ride for us through the dangerous areas. The next morning her husband arrived and not only gave us a ride through the curves but provided us with a history of the area. The entire staff could not have been more helpful. The lodge also has a lovely restaurant and lounge with great food.

We have been making the stop on 199 at Patrick's Creek since I was a kid. I always looked forward to playing in the small creek that runs by the property while my parents sat in the restaurant and ordered our food. The food has always been the same, good, not extraordinary, but it is Gasquet- do you know how far the food has to go to be delivered? The cook makes everything from scratch and they'll rush the order if you're in a hurry. It is a bit of a biker hang out, but if that's a problem just avoid the bar. Also, if you are traveling with kids the grounds are really nice as there is a pond, ducks, lawn and the aforementioned creek.

If you need to relax, decompress, connect with nature and get away from it all, Patrick Creek Lodge (PCL) is the place to go. I have stayed there at least 20 times in the past 5 years and whenever I need a few days off to relax and recharge, that's where I go. If you're looking for a 5-star experience with all the amenities, then book elsewhere at $250 per night. But if you're looking for comfortable lodging, excellent food, personal service and a great bar at an excellent value, then PCL has no equal in the area.

If you want to escape the cold and foggy coast this is where you find the California sun. Good pool area, nice rooms and good food at the restaurant. Quiet but far from everything else...
