Beautiful and unique. Amazing breakfasts - Tim is quite a cook! - with great stories to boot. The furnishings and rooms are on the older side but very comfortable and spacious. Grounds are expansive and fascinating to explore - from the vintage truck (which Tim will drive you around in), the sculptor/artist in residence, the barn with wine-making equipment and pieces of art, and all the little collectibles scattered about the place - we enjoyed our stay very much. And we loved the resident dog. A funky, artsy, chilled-out place to relax in wine country.

I recently spent the night at the Relais du Soleil with my husband, 11 month baby, and French in Laws.
The place was magical; the sound of the creek, the horses in the field, the starry night, and the sculptures of Brian Tedrick in the field...
We had the cottage to ourselves and were able to cook our diner on site and eat it under the very romantic fairy lights in the party room. It was wonderful!
The welcome was also very warm. Tim and his girlfriend Maureen went out of their way to make us feel welcome; cheese and wine tastings, tips on the area, home made breakfast...
I would definitely recommend le Relais du Soleil to anyone looking for a place to stay in Sonoma County. We had a great time and would love to go back again in the future!

Those who point out that this is not your ordinary B&B are correct. It is a special and enchanting place. The grounds are spacious and a flock of wild turkeys lives nearby. Come to relax and younwill not go wrong. Tim is a treasure

We had our wedding here, and couldn't have asked for a better time or a lovelier outdoor party. RDS is very unique - the location is beautiful, rustic, original - Eclectic and funky - not like any B&B I'm familiar with. We were able to do exactly what we wanted and Tim couldn't have been more helpful. He & Maria cooked up a mexican rehearsel dinner for 75+ that my guests are still commenting on. The kids we're entertained the entire time.

Food- great; wine - great; atmosphere - amazing!

Thanks again, Tim - We will be back!!!

We spent two nights here to celebrate my birthday and were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. It was love a first sight—with the lovely and spacious garden and meadow; the whimsical sculptures by Bryan Tedrick; the rustic atmosphere; and Tim Korn’s outgoing hospitality and convivial manner. As soon as we arrived, he led us to his winery shed and poured wine of his own making. A raconteur par excellence, Tim knows everybody in Glen Ellen and beyond, and will regale you with anecdotes and local lore. We had booked a room in the main house, but Tim accommodated us in the more expensive Bunkhouse at no additional charge. Tim’s breakfasts are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate, and will keep you going all day. The outdoor hot tub is a great place to relax after a long hike, and should you want to settle down and read, there’s a good supply of books (Jack London is, of course, de rigueur here). Relais du Soleil is everything one could wish for in a country retreat, yet it is within an easy drive to the main attractions of Sonoma County. Warmly recommended.

I stayed at Relais du Soleil as part of a wedding party. You are able to rent the entire ranch for the weekend for weddings. The surroundings are gorgeous and the setting for the wedding outside is picture perfect and scenic. The barn that is advertised as an event space has much clutter that needs to be moved to make it functional and then it has to be moved back, all by those that are renting it. Expect no assistance from the owner.

Rustic is an apt explanation for the accomodations. The rooms are unconventional and basically a flash back to the past. Spiders were ever present in our room.

The breakfast is amazing and delicious. Tim is a wonderful and charming host and makes appearances at all the occassions - meals, hang out time, the rehearsal, and the wedding.

We stayed here in April 2010 (but I'm only just getting around to loading up a batch of reviews) and it ranks as one of our favourite stays anywhere in the world.

The setting is beautiful & secluded, a farmhouse at the end of a long track looking up a stunning valley ... but what sets it apart is the host, Tim. We arrived to offers of his own wine (gratefully received), enjoyed great breakfasts and left with the recipe for his red pepper ketchup.

And I haven't even mentioned the hottub, resident sculptor, evenings around the fire
