“Really outstanding meal - and the steak was great too!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Bourbon Steak at Americana is outstanding ... all around. Cocktails, service, and terrific food. It is not inexpensive -- in fact its expensive. But the food is terrific. Not super fancy or pretentious stuff either -- just really terrific food and the french fries, and their presentation are terrific. I went on two different occasions, had two different meals and the same great experience. Highly recommend especially for that special occasion.

“Michael Mina style at it's best in Glendale”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Impressive from the moment you enter the restaurant. Stylish interior design. 5 star service. The dining choices overall were delicious but also artistic in presentation. We started off with an assortment of flavored french fries with matching dipping sauce the chef's amuse bouche which was wonderful. We followed this with a few oysters on a half shell with champagne mignonette, a perfect marriage of flavors. The tuna tartare with asian pear, pine nuts, scotch bonnet, mint, and sesame was fantastic(almost as good as the one I make with fresh ahi). The Duck spring rolls with ginger-chile dipping sauce flavored with mint, cilantro was a perfect starter. I had the Tomahawk pork chop(med rare) which was cooked to perfection. The center cut American Wagyu flat iron steak was the best I had ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. I was done but the bread pudding with ice cream was out of the world. The wine list was excellent with a wide selection of old/new world choices at ~2.5-3.5 x retail. The service was excellent. The wine service was also excellent. The only distraction was the music which was not really compatible with a 5 star dining experience except for the live piano tunes. I would say this is a classic Michael Mina dining experience and should not be missed if you are interested in fine dining. The General Manager Michael Main was very attentive as was all of his staff. The price of this experience is not cheap and expect to spend 100-175/person depending on wine selections.

“Steak, Steak, Steak”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

We are big Michael Mina fans and loved this, recently opened venue. The service was excellent as always. We were not rushed, service was timely, the tuna tar tar was fantastic, desert (Root Beer Float especially good) was a nice finish to the evening. The Porterhouse for two stood out as exceptional. have a great time. Steve

“Very impressed.”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

It's about time we get a restaurant of this caliber in the Pasadena/Glendale area. I come from a fine dining background, and as I told our server, Scott, the other night "You guys know what you're doing". Proper wine service, take the bread plate off of the table if it's not being used, crumb between courses. Know your menu. There are some great restaurants in the area that lack in these simple details that could be distinguishing them. The food is pricey, but amazing. Great variety and selections on the menu. The only somewhat negative aspects... I've heard that you won't receive the same service in the bar area, and because it's at the Americana there are kids running around the restaurant when you're having date night.
