The grounds where beautiful. We enjoyed the personal ordered breakfast each morning, the warm cookies, and the cheese and wine reception each afternoon. The suites are clean, relaxing and the king bed was soooooo comfortable! Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for the 217 or the 101. There is some traffic noise but it is minimal.

We stayed here for 5 days while visiting my stepdaughter who lives in Goleta. The rooms are decent sized and quiet. Since it is a two room suite, you can close the bedroom door and the living room acts as a barrier to outside sound. The matress is very, very comfortable. The bathroom was fine, standard hotel stuff, with a very good "rainfall" style showerhead. The breakfast (included with the room) was outstanding, and includes a choice of eggs or omlets with a bunch of ingredients. There is a swimming pool and a hot tub, so don't forget your swimming suit.
The hotel is built on the site of the Sexton House, built in 1880, which has been refurbished for receptions, conferences, etc. There is a quarter acre or so garden in front of the hotel, probably a remnant of Sexton's nursery, with an amazing variety of California trees, including a redwood tree. Makes a nice short walk, and another barrier between the road and the hotel.
All in all, a very, very pleasant stay.

I have stayed at this hotel about 5 times over the last 3 years to visit our son who goes to UCSB. Every time we stayed here there was a god offal smell from the bathroom. smells like a broken sewer pipe under the ground is seeping up through the floor. then again when to turn the cieling fan on the smell gets worst. Mention it to the staff they did nothing. On all 5 visits we had the same B.O. in the bathrooms. We were lucky not to get the side with the freeway on ramp. the say the allow pets for additional $20 per day. Not worth it. many lodgeing in santa barbara except pets since the big fire displaced many residents to stay in Hotels. Will never stay here again because they never repair the rooms.

Room was clean and quiet but the building door to the outside did not lock and did not have a lock. When my niece used the commode it would not stop running.

Firstly, perfect location if you intend to visit UCSB, and just a couple miles to downtown SB. There is a Historical Landmark family home on the property that is open for viewing...no frills, but it is charming and helps make the Pacifica Suites property that much more quaint. The grounds are well maintained and include a large variety of plants/trees as the former home turned museum was a horticultural family estate.

The room was comfortable. Great size with living area and bedroom. Granted, with sofa bed pulled out the room became a tad cramped, but still way better than a hotel.

Unfortunately, our room had brackish water (no odor though, and thankfully we brought plenty of fresh water for coffee/tea, etc.) and the heater was not working. When I requested someone look at the heater, they did, but were either unable to fix it or it's just woefully inadequate to heat the unit. Guess you get what you pay for as this place is certainly a bargain if you don't pay rack rates. A search online provided me with a rate well below two-hundred per eve. Have stayed at Inn of Spanish Garden in the past and it's fantastic, but was booked. I may stay here as my first alternative in the future.

We had a pool view room, so during the day it's a bit noisy with the kids playing, but nice and quiet at night since just on the other side of the hall the rooms face the highway; which is not exceedingly busy with traffic noise, but busy nonetheless.

Housekeeping and front desk do a good job as well. Front desk staff are efficient at check-in/out and offered great restaurant recommendations (try Brophy Bros at the harbor). The included breakfast was great! Makes getting out to explore easier when food needs are already taken care of. Too bad we were not staying mid-week for the included happy hour reception.
