“Good Chinese food at a good price.”
Reviewed 24 April 2013

We love good Chinese food and usually try them when traveling. It is sometimes a crap shoot to find a good one, but we luckily found Asian Garden. The food was good and reasonable as well. Would definitely come back.

“Great sizing plate, great to the ear and pallet!”
Reviewed 23 April 2013

I was a guest of the Nevada County Camera Club and part of the fun is to gather for dinner before the meal at their local haunt. I was not disappointed...Asian Garden was their choice and I arrived.

Most had the evening special, a great value until 4:30. However, a little late since we were out and shooting the nice, green hills along the way on SR 49, we arrived too late. But, that wasn't a problem!

I ordered the Sizzling Beef and Scallops. What a treat! It came to the table quickly and what a sizzle it made when added to the platter! But that was just the start--It came with a bowl of properly-prepared rice as part of the offering. It was a feast for the pallet and it seemed to never end!

A great meal and a great value!

“Good lunches”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

The staff is efficient and the food is served piping hot. The lunch is very tasty but we notice a definate drop off for dinner. Not sure if it's volume related or maybe a different chef for dinner?

“Usually decent (sometimes a bit off)”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

We eaten here a lot over 15 years. Usually the good is pretty good, although we have experienced a few "off" nights.

Favorite dishes worth trying here:

Hot braised shrimp - sweet and mildly spicy (just don't eat a red pepper or you'll be sorry!) These are one of our favorites on the menu.

Asian Garden Lover's Prawns - half hot braised shrimp and half lobster shrimp

Shrimp with Broccoli - good if you are looking for a healthier dish. We ask for cashews on top and it's extra tasty.

Curry Chicken - nice big chunks of boneless chicken breast, onion, peppers, carrots in a yellow curry sauce. mildly spicy. great over white rice.

General's Chicken (can't vouch for this personally, but friends say they really like this dish here)

Crabmeat corn soup (good on a cold winter night, or when you aren't feeling so great).

Vegetable Mu Shu - tasty grilled veggies wrapped inside a chinese pancake with plum sauce

Black mushrooms with Chinese Greens - dish is a bit misnamed. The mushrooms are great. There's no actual "greens" -- rather it's bok choy (the white part only - no greens!) but we like the anyway. Sauteed in with slivers of garlic in a nice light sauce.

Sauteed string beans with soybean cake -- excellent green beans that taste as if they have been lightly grilled. good flavor.

Bean curd with vegetables in crock pot -- excellent if you are a vegetarian or trying to eat a bit healthier or wanting a big more veggies with your meal.

We like their veggie fried rice, although nothing special, it still tastes good.

It's been awhile since we've had their vegetarian specials, but we used to eat / like vegetarian "beef" mongolian, and vegetarian "chicken" almond.

“Not like before”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

We used to eat here a lot 12 years ago. We tried it again. Food was not as tasty. Service was minimal and not friendly as before. Maybe an off day but we probably won't be back.
